Breaking news for those who care as of April 30,2009 Comast will be dropping NFL Nework because of price changes..That sucks for me because I have Comcast and the NFL Nework the news just broke so if anyone else has anything on it I'm all:bigear:....Thanks

Are there any alternatives in your area? When FIOS was available here I dropped Comcast as fast as humanly possible.

Got some more news on the on it they are currently talking about a new deal and hopefully they will keep the network and I will be so happy if they do going to keep my fingers crossed.

I think the NFL wants to force Cable companies to carry the NFL Network as part of basic cable package, which would ensure that their rights fee increases would have to be passed on to consumers.

I think the NFL Network should remain a separate sports programming buy for cable customers. Only if the NFL yanks its Monday Night broadcast off of ESPN someday would I support the NFL Network being part of a basic package.

Does anyone believe the NFL Network has any real journalistic credibility? It's just a PR arm for the NFL. I get all the PR I need on ESPN already...

Outstanding point and I was thinking if I lose theNFL Nework I still got all of my sports channels so if they go thry go yhanks titsrock:glugglug:

I hate cable companies, but in this instance I have to grudgingly side with Comcast. Why should everybody's bill go up because the NFL wants to put a channel on the basic tier whether people want to watch it or not. They should have it as a separate option that people can pay for if anything.

Good for Comcast. The NFL network is nothing more than a moneymaking extortion act by the NFL. For instance the last six or so weeks of the season the NFL puts a decent game on Thursday night. They do this only in order to get NFL fans riled up about missing it in the hope that the fans will beg their cable company to put NFL Network on basic. I mean any one of the NFL's TV partners would gladly air the games, i.e. Fox, NBC, CBS or ESPN.

If only these asshole fans would stop to think about the fact that the Thursday night games used to be broadcast on ESPN then they might realize that they are being fucked up the ass.

The NFL does not care about their fans; only their money.

Comcast is Shit Company.

Not only have they shut off NFL on their NET they also tried to extort money, higher license fees from DTV and other SAT Nets for VERSUS Sports. Comcast owns VS.

DTV said no and then un-pluged VS. from their programming lineup after Comcast held their ground. I enjoyed the wide variety of sports being shown on VS. NHL Hockey, Indy Car and much more.

That being said, Sports Programming is getting out of hand price-wise. I love Football and for many years subscribed to NFL Ticket on DTV. It got too expensive so I unsubscribed. Could I afford it YES! but I just felt like I was being abused (Price Gouged) by the escalating price increases each year.

Whose to blame? EVERYONE! Athletes with High Priced Contracts, Teams, The Networks, The Leagues, on and on and on. Eventually Greed trumps reasonable and everyone suffers.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
^^^ Yeah, I'm not a big IRL fan, but if no other racing is on, I will watch it. I noticed that Comcast and DirecTV had been in a dispute over fees for awhile. Guess Comcast lost that fight. Sucks for the IRL, since they signed the Versus deal primarily because they were the only ones willing to pay them anything. Now they lost something like 19 million households when DTV dropped Versus.

Versus is OK. But I'd have been pissed if my satellite bill had gone up even $1 just to have it. Cable in this area sucks even worse, but Murdoch jacked up the DTV bills too. And the new owners haven't exactly given rebates, so I figure I pay more than enough for what I get.

I am watching the NFL network right now and I have Comcast.

You wont get NFL Network or a lot of sports exclusive channels unless you get any upgraded package. Or you pay about $5 and get the Sports Entertainment Package, which is just fine. NFL Network, NBA channel, NHL channel ESPNews. But they will mislead you with MLB Network which they say is part of the Sports Entertainment Package but it isnt which kinda blows.
