Cleveland Deemed Most Miserable City in the USA

Actually Columbus is by far the biggest city in Ohio. It was well over twice as big as Cincinnati and approaching 40% bigger than Cleveland.

Yeah, but I think what he is referring to is the metro areas of the cities. In that case, Cleveland is much, much bigger than Columbus (Though it's technically not Cleveland ).

This is total bullshit. I've had some great times in Cleveland and the people are great. There are lot of places that are worse than C-town.

Cleveland rocks!!!!!

I was born & raised in Cleveland, & have to agree that its a shithole I never wish to set foot in again!

And you **** baseball? Somewhere there is an irreconcilable dichotomy, mrtrebus!

Cleveland is one of the greatest baseball towns in America. Maybe that's another reason you **** it I guess.

And we are surprised by this?:dunno: It's not called the mistake by the lake for nothing.

Hello!

I haven't been to Cleveland in several years. But I'm sorry to hear that. I used to go there for the CART and Trans Am races out at Burke Lakefront Airport every year, and we always had a great time. Checked out the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a few times - enjoyed that. But I guess when you're just there as a tourist, you don't see the bad side.

I loved how 30 Rock called Cleveland one of the best vacation spots on the 1st season... Goddamn hilarious.

Oregon & Washington weren't on the 20 list, score!

My ex & good friend lives in Sacramento, and yeah it's certainly bad there...

The city does have it's problems, starting with a political structure, and mayor, that are totally fucked up, but it did start years ago, with Gov. Taft. I personally like living here, and I think a great deal of the misery they speak of, comes from the economy, and the weather. Having said that, I certainly can't see how it made it to number one, and I like living here....but I'm in an outlying suburb.

How the hell did they beat Detroit?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Out of all the major cities in the US,I find it hard to believe that there could be any place worse than Detroit.

Cleveland is one of the greatest baseball towns in America.

Ha...that's funny.

Maybe I have a skewed view because I grew up here, but this town is sooooo not a baseball town. I've never seen such a fair weather crowd in my entire life. Before Dick Jacobs bought the Indians and built a new stadium, nobody cared about the Indians - they were a bad team with an old stadium, old uniforms and mediocre players - nobody liked them. But, the second that the new stadium was built, new uniforms were introduced and we just straight up went out and bought new players for our team, this town erupted with fandamonium.

For yeeeeears, this town lived and breathed baseball...but only because the Indians were good. You come here now and it's totally different. Nobody cares and nobody is a fan anymore. Why? Because, the Tribe sucks and, since Cleveland is full of fair weather fans (for baseball anyway - the Browns fans are a different story), nobody cares.

I'm afraid to say it, but the same thing will happen with the Cavs if LeBron James leaves. As for now, Cleveland seems like a great basketball city, but that's only because we're good for once. Take the victories away and 95% of the fans will go along with them.

^ That seems to happen to most Ohio teams. There's no support for the Blue Jackets, though then again they've only had one decent year in their existence.
