Circuit City's liquidation sales failed

I read all of the complaints here on gamefaqs so I didn't expect anything mega cheap, but I at least expected tax to be off. I walked into the store and it reeked of failure. The liquidators had the balls to want $25 for Dead To Rights (PS2) when it's a buck at gamestop, $20 for a CD I wanted, $40 for a Futurama boxset? $30 for Darkstalker PSP? Are you kidding me?

It's an insult to me as a consumer and as an intelligent man. Liquidators put the prices HIGHER than what they usually are and call it a sale? I guess some people with shop and spends lots of money no matter what so long as there's a sale sign on the door. Well, hey, if you've got the money then more power to you guess, but they got nothing from me. Luckily it's literally on the way home so I didn't waste gas driving there.

With liquidation sales the first few weeks are never good. Over time the sale percentages get higher and higher but the product in the store gets slimmer and slimmer.

Exactly the reason I wanted to check it out early. Later on when eveyrthing it cheaper, there won't be a thing left. Even so, no sale on the planet should EVER be more expensive than the original price.

I hear you, I've only bought two things from Circuit City since the sale started. If Mirrors Edge is still there after a few weeks I may pick it up but I'm not counting on it.

what the fuck you lookin at?
good ridence

Short circuit at liquidation? lol

People don't want to spend cash and use credit cards and you, Circuit City want to liquidate yourself with sticking prices. That's not fair. It's a no no.

I was pretty happy with what I got...
30% off a new Wii controller and steering wheel, not too shabby.
The games and movies were not all that great for bargains though, I am sure they will drop.

Do NOT pay full price for that one. It's fun, but very short. It's a rental unless you're an achievement whore.

I went in to by a new HDTV and they were offering 10-30% off. The only problem was that their prices were 20 -40% higher than the sames ones in Best Buy. Liquidation Sale my ass. They SUCK!

It's like they purposely insult the consumers with prices like that.

in my dealings with CC i thought they actually had good customer service. from what i have read once they filed for liquidation another company comes in to sell off their inventor and those companies are responsible for this sham. but i always liked CC earlier cuz they had free shipping and whenever i wanted to return anything is was a breeze and the prices were actually lower then BB. so I for 1 will be sad CC is gone.

Circuit City? The salesmen always hassled me way too much. The prices were annoyingly high. The sales were all over the place.. but the sale price was the NORMAL price of Best Buy or Media Play/Incredible Universe/Fry's.

Other than that.. I still want to kick Mr. Circuit City in the balls for that hugeassed fiasco called Divx DVD's. Honest, cc... what is it about supply-and-demand that you JUST DONT GET?!? You're going out of business because there is no demand for your high priced items. Lower the prices.. increase demand. Run out of supply, charge 5 bucks for a raincheck-callback. Simple fucking stuff! SHEESH!

Every "liquidation" or "going out of business" sale I've ever seen goes this way. They jack up the prices because they have to pay off their creditors. Not worth your time.

Here Zombie, Zombie, Zombie...
They were almost always overpriced. And didn't have the stuff that needed, and they were always pushing the extended warrenty on stuff. At least at the one I used to go to.
