Re: War machine arrested

Another fine example of sleazy reporting from CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/16/justice/mma-fighter-arrest/index.html?hpt=hp_t2.

I couldn't care less about the nudity, but if CNN isn't going to spend even 5 minutes editing the content of a story before filming it in this incredibly stupid format, then... You know what, I'm not even going to finish that statement.

Watch the clip. It's un-fucking-believable.

Well that's what happened so far...how is the CNN footage considered sleazy?

Re: War machine arrested

So they put a spit hood on him, huh? What a fucking idiot. Spitting on someone, anyone, is assault and hopefully they'll tack on a couple extra charges for that bit of fuckery.

Omg now they've put a bag over his head. I'm starting to despise American police officers big time...

Re: War machine arrested

Americans seem more accepting to having people shoot other people whenever someone happens to look towards them with a wrong kind of facial expression. Maybe none of his problems would exist today, if he just used a gun instead of his fists and just told it was for self-defence...

Seriously you would call what he did to her self defense. Also coming in a painting all Americans with the same brush is sure going to get you some love. Non Americans don't like it done to them, and we don't either

Yes but I still don't see what you mean:dunno:

The way it was filmed in a black room, the fact that the "reporter" wasn't really reporting anything, but basically just asking open-ended questions like "what really happened?" Also, who the hell was she even talking to? It was made to look like she was leading some sort of discussion panel, but there was no one else there. The camera covered her from multiple odd angles, meant to jolt the viewer out of a normal perspective.

The fact that all she did was repeat well known facts of the story (CNN has posted actual articles about it the last several days, it's not like this "vignette" added anything to those) and refer to Twitter feeds shows there was no attempt at journalism at all here. I actually take back what I said before about the editors being careless and allowing the nudity to slip past them. I think now that was probably intentional to get more mileage out of the whole advertisement, which is really all it was. Although really it's an advertisement for nothing. Their entire programming philosophy now seems to be: generate ads, generate ads for those ads, and ads about the ads about the ads.

In short, it was meant to incite emotions and stimulate interest in the coverage, which is non-existent but as long as they perpetuate the idea that there will be more shock and innuendo from the "news leader," they think people will continue to tune in.

I call that sleazy reporting. They're using the tragedy to generate ratings while providing nothing of substance.

Re: War machine arrested

Seems like a smart guy to me....

I never really wasted my time to become aware of this riff-raff's existence. The only thing I'm wondering is why a gal would have a second date with this guy after sitting across the table listening to his nonsense the first time. If you're gonna be dark at least be enchanting like Vincent Price. Maybe some guy named Vinnie shanks him after seeing the price tag hanging off the machine. Clutch those books close to your chest even if you can't read them.

Re: War machine arrested

Hah, "Allegedly..." If there's one thing you can count on, it's Crappy News Network doing what they do best.
Maybe they were trying to appeal to their massive MMA fan base? :dunno:

Oh but wait, nobody watches CNN!

Re: War machine arrested

They use spit hoods all over the world, idiot. Even in Canada. Moron. They're for the LEOs protection from communicable disease. And they are also used to make high profile suspects a little more anonymous.

He wouldn't even think about spitting an officer let alone giving off a communicable disease...Look there was no need to apprehend him like that. He surrendered cleanly...The real animals are the Police officers. They the bad guys!

How do you know he wouldn't spit on an officer? He just totally fucked up a woman he claimed to love, is it really a stretch to take precautions? Hell no, he's lucky he managed to keep his teeth and all bones intact, a spit hood really isn't a big deal.

Look there was no need to apprehend him like that. He surrendered cleanly...The real animals are the Police officers. They the bad guys!

Why are they bad guys for doing their jobs?

Does he look like someone who would spit @ LE being apprehended? NOPE

It looks totally unprofessional. If he was acting out of control then yeah but he surrendered himself cleanly. No need to put a bag over his head and suffocate him. Absolutely no need. Police officers were totally unprofessional by doing that. They need better training. No wonder society doesn't admire LE. BOO!

He couldn't suffocate in a spit hood, they're made specifically for the purpose they're used. If they had put a plastic grocery bag over his head ok, you might have a point. There's nothing unprofessional about apprehending a fugitive, they will use whatever force is necessary to take a suspect into custody, the guy was wanted for an extremely violent crime, had been on the run for over a week, and is a professional MMA fighter, not exactly the profile of a person that is likely to cooperate and certainly justifies takeing extreme precaution. You should probably cut the cops some slack on this one.
