I saw this on Christine's FB page and thought I'd share with the rest of us on this forum:
Caution: mushy post ahead. Lol I have to say this has been the most thoughtful bday I've ever had. I started off this August dreading my bday. Every year- I hate bdays. During my adult years- I only celebrated my bdays at a club ONLY cuz I was being paid to host that night & im a workoholic. . I also hated the idea of anyone spending extra $ on me. Also the reason why I hate bdays is because I'm naturally a shy person- Im uncomfortable with too much attention. So i never ask for a bday celebration of any sort. Also because growing up, I only celebrated 2 bdays because as a child-we could never afford it. This photo is from one of the 2 bdays I had. That pink thing in my hair was a Barbie doll skirt (which kept sliding off my ponytail lol) cuz I didn't own a hair bow. Lol I don't have any photos of my first bday party. So this photo here is my only childhood memory of any bday. I was conditioned to feel that way about bdays i guess. Sooo this year, another 'whatever' bday- or, so I thought. I opted to only spend my bday w my mom cuz she makes me feel so happy. I didn't think anyone else would even care to remember if I didn't invite them to a party of some sort. As aug 7 went on.. I received so much love online and also from my family & friends. It was so touching. when I felt like being a recluse this yr, my loved ones dragged me out (literally) and made me feel so special. I'll never forget this bday. I didn't work at all, been surprised left & right- even with your heartfelt posts & greetings online. Feeling grateful. I love & appreciate u all so much. now, no more bday talk..back to work! Lol...
