Simple answer, don't take it any further. If this is a make or break for her then sorry it's not going to work. If you have no faith becoming religious for the sake of a women is a mistake &, even though I am an atheist, I would see it as disrespectful to the faith. You are only going to church & praying etc because you want to get into some birds knickers.
If you can genuinely look at yourself & say, yes I believe in god but just am not into the whole church thing, then maybe you can find a faith this way. But to become a Christian because you have been prompted by your cock alone is a no no as far as I'm concerned. . .
She has been honest with you. Just be honest with her & yourself. If that means there is no hope of a relationship with her, then so be it.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
Like I said, nothing is set in stone, I'm just doing a little research on the matter based on what I've heard about dating Christian women. Bottom line is we've known each other for 15+ years and she knows me well enough to know how far she can go to try and "turn me", so to speak. Theres been conversations about it over the years and theres been numerous times where I have made fun of her over it and she never took it personal.
So does she know that you're an atheist? Is she a true Christian or is she just one of those types that says she's Christian to follow the crowd? There's a big difference there.
My girlfriend used to be a Christian (she was Catholic) but she never practiced her beliefs and neither did her family (and now she and her whole family are Atheists). Many religious women can snap out of the religious brainwashing that happened while others do not. On occasion you do get people who were once born morons (I mean Christians, my bad) but they snap out of it, how that happens varies but the most common was that they realised they were being taken advantage of. My advice will be to try her out, take her out on a date, who knows? Maybe you will find out she is a very different person and that she may be intolerant to your beliefs and social views whatever they are.
I don't understand what all this talk of brainwashing is all the time. I have had a sense of God ever since I can remember. Actually, my parents weren't exactly the most religious type. I didn't step foot in a church until I was about 10. The time after that I was about 17. My parents didn't read the Bible to me, nor force me to memorize passages. Yet, I've always had a sense that there is a greater power and that everything will turn out alright no matter what. It sometimes baffles my mind that others don't feel this way (or perhaps just don't want to accept it). :dunno:
Run away from her! Your life will be miserable. Rampant Christians are the most hypocritical people on the planet, next to politicians.
Any woman that says "my man needs to fear god" or some bullshit like that is a woman who has a lot of growing up to do.
Seek your companionship elsewhere
Hold your horses...we don't even know how big of a Christian this girl is. If Alex is making fun of her beliefs and she laughs it off AND is considering a relationship with him she's probably not that big of a believer.
But, I'm a Christian.....so tell me, just how big of a hypocrite am I??? :wave2:
