In my opinion, Revelations was their best record.
They gave it a shot though as it was a great concept to have all that talent in one band. The rythm section was excellent as usual but Tom Morello had never sounded so restricted. He should start going wild on the guitar like he used to in Rage. All great musicians but it was bound to happen I guess.
I love Chris Cornell, he's one of my favorites and I saw Soundgarden a few times in concert. What I don't like reading is comments like "My next solo record will sound more like Tom Waits" and the sort.
I want Chris Cornell to be himself. If a tune sounds like Tom Waits it's going to make me want to go listen to my Tom Waits records and appreciate that originality even more. On Euphoria Morning there were great songs there but the Jeff Buckley influence/channeling was a bit much.
Thanks.
