I´m a big fan of the 80´s.
I don´t understand why they make fun of that decade.
Way much better than the 60´s.

I would have loved to be in my twenties during the sixties - but the eighties was pretty fun too...

Hip-hop
Go-Go music
New Jack Swing
Ska Revival

Mantronix - Got To Have Your Love
Art of Noise - Beatbox
Level 42- Something About You
Africa Bambaataa - Planet Rock
Man Parrish - Hip-Hip Be-bop (don't stop)
Unlimited Touch - I Hear Music In The Streets
Maze - Twilight

Greed Is Good - Gordon Gekko (Wall Street)
The World Is Yours - Tony Montana (Scarface)

lol i can relate to over half of those

Great site there om3ga and dang I forgot about beat street lol. Used to break dance (hides) when I was little. So I actually liked it at the time lol. I`ve been 80`s movie junkie. Freaking Campus man and Back to school was on the other night. How horrible some off the movies were in the 80`s least they kept them light. I`ll take Howard the Duck over a lot I have unfortunatly seen lately.

Grandmaster Melle Mel & The Furious Five!!!! "Beat Street, the King of the Beat, you see 'em rockin' that beat from across the street, uh huh huh, Beat Street is a lesson too..." etc.

I bought that on vinyl in 7th grade. DAMN. I'm fucking old skool. LOL! That was back when Van Halen "1984" was the top shit ("Jump!") and ZZ Top were all over Mtv with the hot babes and that cool car, Dire Straits wanted their Mtv, and the Talking Heads were "Burning Down the House!" lol

Great stuff, om3ga!!! :glugglug:

The 80's!

Michael Jackson, high-tops, "Where's the beef?!" Wendy's commercial, the Challenger disaster, breakdance, The Karate Kid, The Breakfast Club, "SAVE FERRIS!", hair bands, WWF, Hulk Hogan Vs. Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan Vs. King Kong Bundy, Rocky Vs. Ivan Drago, Rocky Vs. Clubber Lang, Beverly Hills Cop, Jason Vorhees, bad hair styles, worse fashion taste...and we all still love the 80's!

wow alot of Hair Spray was used it the 80s..

I just turned 31 in September and was in 6th grade when the Challenger exploded. We watched the coverage all day in school. Anyone remember the braclets that we wore made of yarn woven together. You ran them up your arm along with your multipe swatches. How about JAMS (the floral print and bright colored outfits) SKIDS the baggy brightcolored and patterned PJ pants. I rocked a jean jacket and acid washed jeans. Chuck Taylors were brought back in all sorts of colors. Hot Pink was cool to wear. Air Jordans. Pac Man T shirts and Star Wars tshirs, and you didn't have to be a geek to wear them. I wish that I could have started HS in 83 and 84. That would have been a cool time to be coming of age, being able to drive, etc. I had to settle for a graduation of 92. I wasn't too far off but the 90's always sucked to me. This thread just gave me a warm fuzzy feeling all over and took me on a trip down memeory lane. Totally Awesome!

Has anyone seen the series that VH-1 did on the 80s? I Love the 80's, I love the 80s Strikes Back, and I Love the 80s 3D?

Awesome shows...like going in the 'way back machine!' :)

Amen to that. Back when Vince McMahon had his show on the USA Network, and there was also a great wrestling show on Superstation WTBS.

Hulk Hogan. Andre the Giant. The Iron Shiek. Roddy Piper. That was back when it was still actually wrestling.

Nowadays, it's just over-the-top with lots of screaming and hype, but very little actual athletic moves in the ring. It has gone downhill dramatically.

Oh man, those were the days. The Hart Foundation vs. the British Bulldogs, Jake the Snake Roberts, Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat, the original diva Elizabeth. Just the other day they had cameos from Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the Junkyard Dog, and Superfly Jimmy Snooka. All of them with huge bellies, of course.

Name the movie starring: Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, Peter Venkeman, Winston Zeddemore.

I used to love the Transformers, at least until they killed off Optimus Prime and tried to replace him with that pansy Hot Rod. It was all downhill after that.

Anyone still view this thread?

How about ZZTop and the Fuzzy guitars?
Pretending to be 1 of the Duke boys/Daisy

P.S. Van Halen was way better than Van Hagar

Sammy Hager was good for Van Halen going into the 90's but David will always be my favorite. How about Masters of the Universe. Thundar the Barbarian. Does anyone remember these cartoons.

"WOAH" first came to us by Bill & Ted in their excellent adventure and bogus journey, not Joey from Blossom. Get it STRAIGHT ! :D

Keanu is the master of "WOAH". He even does it in "The Matrix".
