Goodness knows, as strongly emphasized above, that I do not always agree with Georges. But he does not seem to hold back and he says what he thinks. In these overly, politically correct times we need more people doing that imo.
True. I am someone who is a "no frills no fancy", I was even called comically nicknamed by my german teacher "the rottweiler" because I never lost one 's hold. I am someone very frank, direct and determined.
For some people, being too direct shocks, not my case. I think to be straightforward is important. I think that often too political correctness is equaling hypocrisy.

I find it funny that we 3 (georges, mcrocket, and me - 3 of the most opinionated people on this board [or at least 3 who will post our opinions for all to read lol]) should be sort of in accord on this ( :hatsoff: :nanner: )...

I believe "honesty is the best policy," however I am pretty firm when it comes to etiquette and decorum. Certain things are taboo and faux pas IMO and need more delicate treatment - not that lying is needed, but rather tact in situations.

Social skills are "a must" in this world, and part of having them and employng them properly, IMO, is knowing when to STFU and when to speak, what to ask and what NOT to ask, and of whom and by whom, et cetera.

In another unforseeable draft of the destiny, two of the most respetable members of this board who were gentle enough to gave me their advises...were equally banned too.

Ironic, isn't it?

I wonder how this board will be when it does not have a member left to ban, just newbies and mods....

Yes and if you know the story you would not be so smug about it.

What's the story Poggy? Mcrocket was absolutely my favor member to debate with and I'm sure there are times I've driven him to his absolute angriest and yet he never said anything remotely bad enough to get him banned. He was just too damn bleeding heart for his own good but never said anything that that would result in :ban2:

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

Whoa! I just noticed Nightfly was banned too.

What the hell is going on here?

I'm glad I saw this thread - I just been (privately) asking the same question about the bans on mcrocket, Nightfly & bobblez.

What happened.....:dunno:

Let me guess: NF and Mcr started arguing in a thread. A mod told them they better not continue arguing within the thread, take it up in a PM. They continued arguing, they both got banned, their posts that led to the bann were deleted - and now everyone's left to wonder what the hell is going on because the posts were deleted and thus confusion but no explanation.

Well, that's no goddamn fun.

Well, that's partially right. The part that you got wrong is that they continued arguing because they didn't. They stopped when they were warned and went on posting elsewhere and then this morning they were banned. A whole bunch of other things went on behind the scenes that it isn't my place to talk about but those are the highlights.

And bobblez?

Like I said in pm om3ga all I know is bobblez has been banned for over 2 weeks.Don't know why.

This could be something the mods could do.Post a little statement telling us why they was banned. You know which rule they broke. Then maybe we wouldn't jack a thread asking why.So we don't do it in the future.

They'll all be back in a few days, when they're no longer banned, since none of them is banned for life.

Edit: Poggy, that's a great idea. A banned thread in the members area might help us avoid the same mistakes other people have made.

Yeah - I thought in bobblez case, I'd open my enquiry to more members by going public.

And I agree about a statement from the mods - preferably in the members area....

All due respect, but thats a terrible idea IMO Reasons for banning are personal, and should be discussed within the banned member and the admin/mods. Only if the member agrees should the info be made public. :2 cents:
