Buying used PS3 games

i hated to buy use ps2 games cus they cam scratched alot but i heard the blu-ray in the ps3 dont scatch the disc and buying a game used is the way to go rather then buying a 60 dollar new game.

is this true do i have to worry about a bad second hand game or can i count on it to be as good as new

Yes, blu-ray discs are very scratch resistant, especially compared to DVDs. Not totally impossible to damage, but you'd have to be really trying to hurt them.

Totally go for used games, for $60 you can get 2 or 3 games easily, especially when Gamestop and the like have that "buy 2 get 1 free" deal on used games.

I've never had a problem with any PS3 or even PS2 pre-owned games. I usually buy games in this state [pre-owned] UNLESS it is a game I really want then I will fork out the extra cash for it new. But most games are pre-owned and in very good condition or like new. Look at the disc before you leave the shop to see the quality of the surface. And if the fucker cunts bitch to you about complaining about second hand discs having marks on them. Then just tell then to shut the fuck up and start having a high standard for games they are willing to purchase back off of people, as it will only work in their favour if they do by giving them a better rep with pre-owned titles. A happy customer is a loyal customer, tell them that. If a disc is marked in anyway then it should be cheap. If the pre-owned price is reasonable or high-ish then it should be almost new. Con merchants sell scratched games at high prices in pre-owned sections of shops. A bit like GAME they are shoddy bastards. They make Derek Trotter look legit.

I normally buy all my games second hand and have never had problems, but stick to reputable sources such Amazon, or any of the used games retailers (you should then be able to check the condition of the disc before buying). The advantage with buying from a retailer is that you can often trade in titles also. I dont know which used game retailers there are in the US so I cant recommend any.
