Bush is not welcomed in Canada...

Im not a Bush supporter but just because a group of people protest doesn't mean that a person isn't welcomed by a whole country. Just a comment on the title of the thread you posted.

I'm a Canadian. I'll welcome him. He is a human being after all. I don't approve of much of what he has instigated. But I will still welcome him.
After all; he is THE big kid on the block. I won't kiss his butt. But I'm not gonna try to start a fight with him either.

Not to make a stink about it, but we as Canadians should be ashamed of ourselves, reguardless of how you feel about the man to show such hatred to someone is disgusting.

I'm not a Bush supporter or a critic - I agree wityh some of what he's done and disagreed with other things.

These types of protests make me feel sick and ashamed of my country.

To those of you who support protesting - you disgust me. Protesting is a low-class mayonaise sandwich, trailer park boys way of showing just how hard you can beat someone up and throw a brick into a window.

GROW UP! :2 cents:

Peaceful protesting is okay in my opinion.

Nothing will change unless you show how much you are willing to do to help it change. (To an extent.)

Hey now...I love sandwiches with mayo and I happened to grow up in a trailer park.

No I didn't, just kidding.

I agree to show hatred for someone you don't even know is childish. But that makes you ashamed of your entire country? The actions of a few hundred or thousand make you ashamed of all 31+ million? That's kinda like the ole' throwing the baby out with the bath water thingy, isn't it?

yeah, peaceful protests are OK. it's a staple of the American ideal. if it wasn't for protests, we'd still be part of the british empire. remember when basically half the world was protesting in almost every major city in the world just before we, the US, invaded Iraq? i thought that was pretty awesome

if you don't support protesting you're basically a good candidate for being under communist rule.

Bush's camp won't admit it publically, but the reason he's not addressing the Commons is because of the MP who was mocking him publically.... there's fears that she's not alone in her classless behavior. Word of this got back to the Canadian government, who then got assurances from all party leaders that their members would behave themselves and not heckle Bush if he chose to speak.... but Bush decided against speaking anyway. I can't blame Bush on this one actually - whether they like him or not, elected officials should at least show enough propriety to let him speak uninterrupted. If he feels that's not the case, then it's quite understandable that he'd choose to snub them altogether.

All I am saying is that there is no such thing as Peaceful protesting.

The word protest in essence is a violent action.

Every protest is violent and someone always get's hurt, case in point the police officer that was hurt outside the Commons.

I don't believe in protesting, it's a disgusting action that should not be practiced.

Point Finale.

I"m not to suprised by any of this at all. I saw that alot of countries didn't like Bush.

Exactly FB, i saw a lot worst in protest, i think that the people who were there behave correctly, but its in their right to show that they are not agreeing with a lot of what Bush is doing...(if that makes any sense)

Personally i wish i could have went there, but i could'nt... some of my friends did and i can't wait to ear the kind of day they had !

We are in a free country and we are entitled to have a opinion. :2 cents:

Protestors do not mean shit. Even when Bill Clinton would travel there would be some protestors. People just protest because they hate America. Simple as that.

What are you saying? Are you saying that the only way to voice your opinion is to protest?

Because that is not the way civilized societies should behave, most protesters are simply ignored or arrested.

I believe in civil discourse, not placards.

please everyone, use your head and do not protest you will simply be hurt.

I bet Bush has to hear jokes like that all the time. Word is that's why he re-shuffled his cabinet... too many lockerroom type jokes from Powell and Ashcroft. :D

Wow, just because we don't agree with the way that Bush is handling the US means that we hate America ? That's :bs: over 55 millions persons protest this november by voting for John Kerry, so by your standards it means that 55 millions americans hate America. :wtf:

Having a protest is just one way of voicing a opinion, you can write a petition, have a boycott... just to name a few.

The people that were there today in Ottawa had the right to voice their opinions, just like the way the people in Ukraine are protesting right now.

Man that was to funny Sexmeup. Good one.
I don't think he was joking...unless you're being sarcastic...if so disregard this.

I really don't know where to begin with this. I just don't see how someone can be against protesting, unless, or course, they are communist but I don't think even communists are like that. It's human nature to be individualistic.
