Brock Lesnar UFC

International superstar Brock Lesnar has already achieved high grades for his transition from pro wrestling to mixed martial arts. Now the former NCAA Champion and four-time All-American is ready for the next step in his career - taking on the best heavyweights in the world in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) organization.

UFC President Dana White announced the signing of Lesnar to a promotional contract during the pay-per-view broadcast of UFC 77 at the US Bank Arena.

“I don’t think there are any other pro wrestlers that can make the transition to MMA, except for Brock Lesnar,” said White. “And if you look at his amateur wrestling credentials, his size, and what he’s done, this guy can end up being a force in the heavyweight division of the UFC.”

Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesner

Frank Mir is washed up (i think) after his accident. Though, i have yet to see him fight (watch a lot of UFC) i don't know if he's a G&P (ground and pound) guy or a striker but don't like Sylvia cause' he trains with the "Miletich Camp" Matt Hughes crew and he's a douchebag.

I know he better not let Lesner bring him down to the ground cause he's going to get punk! Lesner is a big strong dude but he look like he can't throw a punch for shit but. I KNOW he's a G&P'er so we'll see what happens.

Tim "the maniac" Sylvia vs. Antonio Nogueira

This is a classic match-up where: Striker vs. G&P'er

Sylvia is all about striking and the dude is tall as fuck (go figure)
Nogueira WAS one of the best in Pride (similar to UFC but Japan version) until Fedor (the best IMO) knock him off the ladder. His ground game is superb but boring....i like strikers.

Anyhow i love this stuff and can't wait to see the outcome of the Lesner fight.

I think Angle would be a beast in the UFC cause he's a G&P kinda guy and usually the fight goes to the ground where the striker's are @ a disadvantage. Both great wreslter IF they do fight....i give the edge to Brock, simply cause he's HUGE in height and built. None the less it should be interesting.

Totally offtopic: :wtf: happen to Fedor Emelianenko the "perfect fighter"?

I still have a hard time believing that a Pro Wrestler will be able to truly keep up. I'm afraid that they'll just set him up to win or do some dumb Pro wrestling match up.

:nono: the UFC is serious.....ain't no fake ass blood here. However; i do give credit to the wrestlers doing high high flying moves.
If Brock and Angle thinks UFC is like the WWE....they're in for a rude awakening.

OMFG....my prediction was totally wrong. Frank Mir in the 1st round w/ an ankle lock. S'all good it's Lesner's debut i'm sure one day he'll utilize his skills in G&P game better.

I didn't know it was last night.

Frank Mir Beats Brock Lesnar in UFC 81.

Frank Mir defeated Brock Lesnar to win UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) 81 on Saturday night. Mir used a kneebar in the first round to finish off Lesnar, who is a former WWE champion.

UFC 81

i have watched every PPV over the past 2 1/2 years. anyone who is giving Lesnar shit is wrong. he's not coming to the UFC thinking he is going from fake wrestling to MMA. he has been training for 2 years he is going back to where he started as a National Collegiate Wrestling Champion.
i think that the reports of Angle coming are false he stands no chance.
he said he has a lot to work on (striking, submissions, wrestling in the cage, ground and pound) he pretty much punched Frank Mir's face in last night for 1:30 but Mir is an exceptional jujtisu and submission specialist...and when he saw the opportunity he caught brock.
Lesnar even said after the match that he has alot to work on it's back to the drawing board.Lesnar "you can't win every fight although i would like to,you win some you lose some and tonight i lost".

So right and they took fucking points off for Lesner punching @ the back of the head.

Yup...experience owned him last night for not respecting Mir as a former champ and got caught w/ a leg lock. Give him time...he'll turn into a UFC beast.

I would like to see a real UFC match with no submissions or points, just TKO. If that was the case probably no-one could beat Lesnar, he dominated in both his matches. Frank Mir didn't live up to his "rip Lesnar's face off" remark, and after just ninety seconds he looked like he had been hit by a truck. Brock surely will be a force to be reckoned with, he just needs experience.

^ I agree, submission fights are SO fuckin' boring....just watch the 2nd fight Sylvia vs. Nogueira (Main Event), it went to the 3rd round.

BUT now in a MMA YOU have to be versatile, can't be a single style fighter e.g. (Chuck Liddell). Any fight @ one point will go to the ground and you have to be skilled on the ground & strike to get respect....if your opponent knows your weakness, you're fucked.

UFC has come a long way from the 350 lb guy fighting the 160 lb karate guy for 15 straight minutes.
it's better that there is other ways to beat guys other than KO.
look at Brock and look at the Silvia-Noguera fight. Silvia rung his bell and had him pretty much beat in the first 3 minutes or so ..nogeura weathered... 2 more rounds then pulled a guillotine choke for the win.i thought that fight was real bad because Silvia is hated by just about everyone. the heavyweights suck most times because they lumber...and get winded quick..then make a long fight not doing much .....OR have a 45 second match with a quick KO.this show was forgetable it was probably the worst PPV i've seen in the past 2 1/2 or so years.
light heavy and below put on better fight even if they are quick KO's or Submits.

Lesnar is going to be good. He needs to find someone named Gracie and follow 'em around for a year straight.

Damn,Brock dominated,he just didn't have the experience to come out with the win.

Acually; i think he's good on his ground game....just need to anticipate/recognize some of those crazy holds such as: arm bar, triangle choke, ankle lock and guillotine choke hold. I really think he needs to work on his striking skills. Granted the guy is HUGE....but can't throw a punch er doesn't know how to (through my observation).

Anytime you hear the name: Antonio Nogueira it's bound to be boring
(my opinion) cause the guy fights on his back...it's his strong point. He wants you to ground an pound him so he can catch you off gaurd then grab your arm/leg then break it.
