He was, in my opinion, the greatest all around talent in the history of popular music. A true Minnesota legend..
MJ had a gift, but nothing like Prince had. Mj would put out 1 album in 5 years with a horde of musicians and producers and song writers, Prince would put out 6 or 7 albums often with only him in the studio for entire albums. The two of them are not even close in talent, MJ just had better appeal for one album. Here's a little tid bit for you... did you know that Thriller, and Born in the USA were both topping the charts when Purple Rain came out.... and Purple Rain was outselling them 2 to 1 combined until Tipper Gore listened to Darling Nikki. Just read that but had heard it before.Very sad news. Personally, I liked His Royal Badness better than the King of Pop.
AbsolutelyRIP Prince! One of kind. A musical genius. I was stunned when I heard the news on the radio.![]()
Went to bed last night with the Purple Rain tune in my head after I had watched some YouTube videos, woke up with it too, could not get rid of it.
I've been to 5 of his concerts, sure made some great music.
