Before he tossed it out the window, I think Jesse tried to give half his money to Drew Sharp's family (the kid Todd murdered) and the other half to Mike's granddaughter. But as Saul and Walt (?) pointed out, there was no practical way to do that. And Jesse had already given Andrea some money (I don't know how much) a couple of seasons ago - that's how she got the house in the better neighborhood where she and Brock were living. And although I'm not clear on how much the Feds actually know about Jesse's involvement with Walt/Heisenberg, I assume the only incriminating evidence is the tape that Hank and Gommy made of him baring his soul - and the Aryan Brotherhood snatched that (we can assume it got shot all to shit in that hail of bullets). And although Jesse doesn't have that last batch of cash, he does still have the expensive house he bought - and he owns it free & clear. Unless the Feds make a case against him, he doesn't have to remain in hiding forever and he can always sign that house over to Brock and his grandmother. But let's not forget, although he was a likeable character, Jesse was also a murderer and a drug dealer. Well before he met Walt, he had put his family through hell with his dealing and using. He was/is no angel. But at least he knows that and the guilt that we saw eating at him is what makes him more likeable or sympathetic. In addition to his own family, how many lives has Jesse fucked up or had a hand in fucking up?
I feel sorry for Walt, Jr. He worshiped his father and that's forever broken. At least he'll never know that his father's "real" son was Jesse. Other than buying him a new, hot car and beating up some bullies, Walt never did half as much for Jr. as he did for Jesse. Skyler? Fuck that gold-digger. She had been having an affair before Walt got cancer - who knows if Holly was even Walt's kid? And once the money started rolling in and she could be a "business owner", she seemed more than happy to go along with this... as long as she didn't have to get her own hands too dirty. She pretended to Ted that she was the one who had him busted up. She wanted the credit, even though she was just standing on the sidelines. She even wanted Walt to kill Jesse. I'm sorry that Jr. and Holly have to suffer along with her (for the next 10 months and 2 days or whatever), but seeing her as a completely broken person was icing on the cake for me. That was better than seeing her get capped. I think Walt was smart in having (making
) Gretchen and Elliott Schwartz deliver the trust to Walt, Jr. - not Skyler. Smart move. The kid will do the right thing for his family - I think he'll be the man his father was not. Skyler is now a basket case and will probably be dying from lung cancer soon her self... the way she's smoking like a chimney. The only thing I hope is that Skyler will find a way to let Walt, Jr. know that as twisted as Walt was/became, the money that the family used for years (she should do this on her death bed, when Walt, Jr. is 40 or 50) actually came from Walt. Maybe by then Walt, Jr. would be able to handle it - and could see that although he had a thoroughly evil side (51%+), Walt also had a decent side.
I also feel sorry for Brock. He and Walt, Jr. are about the only (truly) innocent characters in this show - well, Holly too. Most everybody else made the decision to play with fire and they just got burned. That's just how life is. I didn't like how the show was based on glamorizing a drug dealer, but at least we got to see an exploration of the most complex character that television has ever seen. But the wages of sin are always death. At least Walt was able to admit why he did what he did and (finally) and in a way, I felt like that made him more honest, though not admirable.
