gah, I don't know what to make of it. some red flags there. I'm going to temper my expectations and resign myself to it not capturing the magic of the first movie.

I am a bit concerned that Harrison Ford is it. Feels like they just wanted him in the movie first and then figure out the plot later, which can't be good. Having just watched the trailer (thanks Edgy - would rep you if I could) still have no idea what the plot is.
If there was one film that didn't need a sequel it was Blade runner, great ending and leaving the audience with intelligent questions. I hope Hollywood hasn't tarnished this legacy for a few extra bucks.

Apparently, Harrison Ford is reprising his role in the next Indiana Jones movie where he travels to Syria to save it's antiquities from ISIS while not breaking a hip.

98% on the Tomato meter - so far so good. I'll judge for myself of course but I'm breathing a sigh of relief. Those trailers had me nervous.

watched it for the 2nd time last night in glorious 4K HDR.
though it tanked at the box office, this has been called a "masterpiece" by critics in the know lol. I think they're clapping seals not wanting to make the same oversight as critics made with the original.
I appreciate the effort and enjoyed watching it, but again, Blade Runner was fine on it's own, didn't need a sequel and this one didn't do it justice. A film in 2018 with all the CGI horsepower available can't outmatch nevermind equal the wondrous though disconcerting Los Angeles in the original film. The setting was completely underwhelming. And yeah, the joi sex scene was technically a technical wonder but fell flat.
And Harrison Ford being **** out of the retirement home where he belongs along with Edward James Olmos (still doing origami).

Why does Wallace want replicants to be able to procreate on their own (and all that entails) when that would go against his business model of making replicants? Same with Tyrell creating Rachel. Why are nexus 8s built to live a natural life span, i.e, grow old, when their purpose is slave labor??

If Wallace's aim with replicants procreating was to colonize many more worlds, why couldn't he have just made replicants who could make copies of themselves in offworld production facilities? He could've reached the exponentiality he desired without having to wait for replicants to be go from ******* to adulthood. Talk about inefficiency. Even the gawd awful star wars prequels and the terminator movies addressed that issue.
