It's not quite but in the same family (if you will)...It was exactly a dumb prank but that doesn't mean dumb pranks automatically go without consequence. I haven't read the statute for which he was arrested but the kid obviously didn't recognize the magnitude of his actions.

Forget the people he offended for a second (white, black and other who were in the store), the jeopardy he placed a franchise's reputation in nationally is a big deal. Aside from inciting a circumstance he could have cost that company real money...

There was a kid in my school who used to pull the fire alarm like every week and then ditch home. Seen some real airhead kids in my day. So assuming this kid is still a teen I would say at the most maybe he should be canned. :dunno: I just think there's some groups in this country that are so fragile when it comes to your actions (in this case, words) towards them.

I just find it profoundly "interesting" how some people in this thread seem to believe it's within their First Amendment rights to go into a privately owned business and use the equipment of that business to broadcast whatever they please... without consequence.

So then shouldn't the charges be trespassing or corruption of property and not "bias intimidation and harassment" charges?

If this little shithead stood outside of WalMart and screamed his idiocy, he'd face no charges.

Well now, there's nothing racist about a black kid telling black people to leave the store, now is there? Maybe he found a store that had a sale on menthol cigarettes and watermelon and just didn't want everyone to be ripped off?

What he did was clearly wrong but obviously he shouldn't be sent to jail. Some hours of community service should be just fine.

Christ we really have lowered ourselves in the Western world to making sure everyone is okay. God forbid we have dodge ball or "winners and losers" in school; that people criticize the president; or that a dumb punk says something that is stupid, but not remotely racist, IMO. If kid went off on a racial epithet rampage, 1) he probably would've gotten his teeth knocked out, and 2) of course he'd been reprimanded. :tongue:

My point in any of these type of threads is to show the silliness and uselessness of race baiting and racist bigotry in general.

I have no personal problem with racism per se as we all have a right to our preferences without judgment. But in the same respect, one shouldn't be offended when they cloak it in another garment and people call it for what it is.

I don't know where you're coming from responding to me with this.

I am all for freedom of speech, but I also believe that one should accept the consequences that comes with that mighty tool that was allowed us by our fore fathers. Sure, everyone should be able to say what the hell they want when they want. Don't get mad, however, if the 6'8 325lb black guy wants to pound your face in (and probably will) for calling him a "Jungle Bunny".

Why would i rep that??? I generally ignore off topic flaming of any type....What you'll find everywhere in that thread is where I respond to you and/or BDG on point with my view.

My point was and still is, the premise of that thread is laughable. I cited many examples to illustrate the point. As if men who like lesbo porn are self haters.:rolleyes:
