Best video game system

True, but perhaps that was because there was because you couldn't save a game and come back to it, so you had no choice but to play it for hours!
I know what you mean though - I still play on the ol' Master System every now and then. Wonderboy is one of my favourites :)

BS! Some games had a built in battery memory. That was the plus-side of cartridges, the game developers could add any electronics to the cartridge they needed for the game, such as battery powered memory. (The FX-chip in some SNES games is a wonderful example of what you can do with cartidges, it was actually an upgrade for the whole system). This is impossible with data-discs.
All The Legend of Zelda games had battery powered memory. The battery powered memory works the same way your computer remembers your BIOS settings even when you disconnect the power to it.

Dude, calm down! There were also quite a few games that gave you codes so you could continue from that point at a later date... I was just talking about the thousands of games that didn't have a save feature. I agree though, cartridges were cool - Especially Micro Machines '96 where the cartridge had two extra control ports built into it!

Hm.

SNES.

Some of the best games, like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III/VI....Super Mario World...

all nintendo console. they are the one and only gamer's console...

Gamers console? Um no cant say that. Yes the nintendo revitalized the console, and the n64 brought out multiplayer. I thijnk the xbox has revelutionized console gaming, more so then any other system out there. Why? well online gaming downloads, getting rosters updated. It all being in one package. I didnt have to buy a network adapter, a modem, a this or a that. Unfourtunately, alot of kid's go blindly into buying something because that's what "MTV" tell's them too. On the next console look at what you as a player want. Do you want to play alone in the dark. Oh man i am just rambaling on screw it. I love the xbox it has really brought me back to the thing i love... Games.

p.s.. yeah i know i was rambling so none of you ned to tel me to shut up i did it myself!

Hm. You raised some good points, Togath.

To that, all I can add is that it will be interesting to see how the Xbox 360 will fare once released.

Xbox runs away with it because of Xbox Live, the PS2's system link doesn't cut it and I believe this will be a major factor in the next round of console wars with the 360 and PS3

i love all the systems. they were all the best for there time. and each one leads to another. best of all i would have to say whice ever one was the first cause it led to all the rest. :D but i love my psp, and i love xbox and the playstations and etc etc etc. they all have great games. and each one has a favorite for me.

stop holding onto the dreamcast crap.... ps1 ownes the dc.

I say gamecube, the version that can play dvds and cds too. Soon it might be either revolution or ps3.

Nintendo DS or Gamecube, Nintendo rules and always has ruled the console area. When Microsoft entered that area they had no idea what it is about, and thats why Xbox is just another PC in a nice chassis.
you are a pussy man nintendo is for babies
and dont say "well resident evil 4 is on it" well its comin out for ps2
my favorite system is xbox the system for mature users not pussys :ban:

i'f i'm feeling nostalgic i'd go for the sega genesis, but now i like the xbox. also if im going for overall importance i like the atari...i dont know the full name of it
