He plays harmonica ok.
In fact, he's really entertaining live. One of the best concerts I've ever been to, his presence drives the audience insane! He's great, but singing-wise... it's average. Dio was a far better singer in Sabbath, he sang for real. And not just in Sabbath, in Rainbow too. His voice was so pure. But this is just my opinion guys. I'm not bashing Ozzy in any way. I just think that being a great frontman is a lot easier for someone who hires a band and does the vocals in it after being in a band like Sabbath.

John although known for his great singing has played piano on a few Black Sabbath albums and on his solo albums. See if youtube has any BTS vids on any of the songs related to their first two BS albums. John can also play guitar, mainly an steel string acoustic Gibson. And surprisingly, he also can play bass guitar. Geezer has given him high praise too as he has said in interviews that he does really well with it.
