I like G 'n' R,but how many albums did they actually offer us? Three, four?
The same thing goes for most of today's bands.Good ,but not for a long period of time.
Led Zep,Floyd,Deep Purple, jethro tull,Zappa etc etc, they were out there for years and years, and their songs still sound great TODAY,some 30-40 years after they came out.
Can we say the same thing about today's bands? Will 20 year-olds be being Oasis records in 2030? I personnaly don't think so.But I believe that Pink Floyd records are still going to be in demand.

As far as the pole goes,I'd go with Freddy, because of the word "performer".I like other people's voice better, but Freddy on stage was something else.

Oasis & Radiohead are the only main bands still going from the early 90s

look at the stones, & there still going strong

Of the 90's-00's the obvious choice are Radiohead, now these guys are true musical geniuses, always evolving and changing, all time greats.

pixies, one of the most underrated bands ever, on the downside they created grunge single handidly (bit harsh on sonic youth and smashing pumpkins actualy who came out of it all) but another truely magical band. Witty lyrics, great vocals, Kim Deal is an amazing bass player and you Joey Santiago is amazing on guitar.

The Smiths, Morrisey, lyrical genius and another fantastic guitarist in Johnny Marr.

Rage against the Machine, Jeff Buckley, Queens of the Stoneage.

Can't be doing with typing out more as my time is limited, but these above artists are a taste of what is still and recently been made over the past 20 odd years. But if you're looking for one band to compare then go for Radiohead, gods of modern music.

no and no!

radiohead and the smiths are truly two of the greatest groups of the last two decades i'll give you that but they still aint in the likes of the beatles, the stones and the who's league

The Stones? I mean come on, they were truely nothing special, a lot like all the modern day NME loving bands, all look and no substance. Radiohead are truely worthy of being mentioned with musical greats, as they are one of them, they experiment, evovle, never go stale, and Ok Computer and Kid A are two of the finest albums ever made.

the stones nothing special!

you have a lot to learn young jedi

exile on main street and let it bleed are two of the greatest albums ever

and far superior to radioheads greatest album ( an album which i listen to on a daily basis ) ok computer

they are one of the greatest live acts ever

which is proven as they are still selling out stadiums in their 60's

jagger although not the greatest singer ever is one of the greatest frontmen ever and richards who is a true rock god has created some of the best riffs ever

together with jagger they are also one of the greatest songwriting partnerships ever

lets see if we are still calling radiohead one of the greats in 30 years time

i went for Freddie... but if we are talking about more recent times, then i think Maynard James Keenan pisses on everyone else.

yes they will because definetly maybe is an album that will stand the tests of time

Jim Morrison hands down.

I also like Cash, Dylan, Mercury, Daltry, Janis Joplin, Cobain, Marley and of course Bono.

Actually I wanna vote for Dio..but it not listed there....

Freddy also one of the best vocalist..my vote for him

For starters when it comes down to guitarists

Greenwood>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Richards

By a very long way, it's not even a contest.

The Stones stick to the same boring formula, never wanting to step outside their boundaries, almost like Oasis who started out with two utter classics but then just carried on kicking the arse out of it. Like I mentioned earlier the reason that makes Radiohead a great band as it's the coming together of 5 supremely gifted musicians, who are always changing their direction, making a new classic, and never scared to try something new.

There's no doubt they will be remembered for as long as the Stones are.

Meh I think OK computer is a better album, you think exile on main street and let it bleed are better, it's not going to go anywhere.

Radiohead, live - '97 Glastonbury. Watch it, immense.
