MTV to revive Beavis and Butthead

US cable network MTV is bringing back cult animated series Beavis and Butthead.

The Viacom-owned broadcaster is revamping the Mike Judge-created series, which stars two cartoon metalheads as they judge the latest pop videos.

The original series was cancelled in 1997 after it was made into a big screen feature, Beavis and Butthead Do America.

Judge is reportedly producing 30 new episodes of the series, set to launch next year.

I'm mixed about this. I want to believe it will do well but who knows. Those who grew up with the originals are all grown up now and have moved on. Seeing what MTV has turned into nowadays I can't see the current generation of simpletons embracing it. Especially since The Hills are no longer around. Coming up after Beavis and Butthead is Parental Control and Next!

They should leave Beavis and Butthead in the past.

Oh please, we're the generation that absolutely will not grow up. 80s and early 90s nostalgia is a multi-billion dollar industry. There's 32 year old hipster "kids" who work at an office and wear Super Mario t-shirts and fauxhawks on their off time.

I don't think that was mean. He simply disagreed.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes. Of course I'll check it out.
Now, will it be ONLY them watching videos, or will there be actual scripted episodes? I personally hated it much of the time when they did videos. I only liked watching the episodes.

I know mike judge can make it work, but if the suits at mtv get involved its gonna be a disaster and a fucking travesty ( a debased, distorted, or grossly inferior imitation).........uh, or something

I've always been big fan of Mike Judge. Started out with Beavis and Butthead, when I was in High School, then it was King of the Hill, Office Space and Idiocracy.

I'll definitely check it out.
