'Batman 3' Villain Role to Be Given to Tom Hardy

Yeah he can play the Riddler, he's got that scrawny build.

Solid addition to the future sequel, but I've read he might be anyone from the Riddler, to Black Mask, to even Killer Croc (which I really doubt but stranger things have happened).

It's only speculation that he'll be a villain. There's been no confirmation about who he's playing from the Nolan camp.

In The Dark Knight they announced the villain before they announced the actor.

Just sayin'.

I'll wait for an official confirmation because I remember when Anthony Michael Hall was cast in The Dark Knight, everyone was reporting he had a major villain role.

Which was a pretty much foregone conclusion considering who was specifically called attention to at the end of Batman Begins.

I remember hearing that his character was going to be named Edward N. which of course would suggest he's actually Edward Nigma or E. Nigma, The Riddler.

Then he ended up being named Mike Engle in the film.

I think it's cool he'll even be in the movie. He was a scary little ass fuck in Bronson.

Batman 3 is being filmed in NOLA, so would that lead itself to the Croc storyline (I don't know the batman comics)

I wouldn't be surprised if that's their angle.

I'm in the middle of watching "Batman XXX: An Adult Parody", which came out earlier this year. I'm actually impressed by how close things are to the actual tv show from the 60's. Evan Stone plays an awesome Riddler. My favorite star, Lexi Belle, as Batgirl. That makes me quite happy. :lovecoupl

You might've already known about it but here's an article on it anyway.

I couldn't imagine Nolan using Killer Croc. He's stayed away from characters with actual superpowers. I also wouldn't be surprised if he skips The Riddler since it would be so predictable for him to jump from The Joker to The Riddler and Nolan tends to be anything but predictable.

He said in an interview after The Dark Knight that he's interested in using some of the lesser known villains. That's why Black Mask is looking really good. Especially the way his family is tied in with the Waynes.

Good. I'm glad to see that the role is going to an experienced entertainment icon like this. I mean, the Hardy Boys are well known as crime busters, and to make the leap from hero to villain is an admirable stretch. Good luck to Tim Hardee!

People who say just saying should stop saying just saying...

Just say... nevermind. LOL

A lot of pressure on Nolan for the BM3 to be the best movie ever... set too high of a standard with TDK

Please Nolan - DO NOT MAKE THE BATMAN 3!

all you can do is screw up the best Batman movie ever by trying to top it

no one says you have to pull a peter jackson here

trilogies are not a neccessity

The Dark Knight was the perfect movie with the perfect villain and a perfect ending and established the entire Batman mythos

Anything you do now will be pointless and fall short

PLEASE DON'T DO IT!

(you guys think C Nolan checks out freeones?)

Mr. Nolan, please, sir, disregard the above and...

MAKE THE THIRD MOVIE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the main villain has to be The Riddler. I don't see how a realistic Penguin character could come about...

I'm still jonesing for Clive Owen to somehow be in this film as a villain :yesyes:

I think with the realistic world that Nolan used for Batman, I think Black Mask or Hush would be perfect as villains.

I could see them using Catwoman but not as the main villain.

Same thing with Talia. She would make a nice subplot, she comes after Bruce to get revenge for her father.

I agree about Penguin. There is no way to do that character without it coming off as campy and cartoony. Even if they tried to make him dark and creepy, then it would probably be reminiscent of something like Leprechaun. (now there's a movie. haha)

Maybe bring in Dr. Hugo Strange, Ra's al Ghul, or even lesser knowns like Everywhere Man or The Mortician.
