Banned Members Online?

I've noticed this same thing on boards that I run, but have never gotten a concise answer as to how it happens.

Any feedback would be appreciated... :hatsoff:

No you can't Stek. Been banned means you can't access the board at all. So I must admit I haven't a clue :dunno:

I think I know.
I think when you get banned while you are still online you dont know at first when you are on whatever page but as soon as u click a new page or refresh or whatever then u get the message saying you are banned then it throws u offline. Although u can basically still be around anyway u just cant see the members only section. I may be wrong but I think thats the case

Can you come back as a guest? Or are you considered online at Freeones?

I know from experience when banned all your account let's you do is read a note from a mod telling you to cool off for a given amount of time.

So if your banned you cant access at all even as a guest to view the pages?...or you just cant post/pm/reply to anything when banned...

No ones post was out of line at all.

Simple that one Fly, think about it. A mod made the first comment posting how this happen's right. But it shows that banned member slip through the net so to speak. So you can't show that can you, not out in public for all members to see. So the posts had to be deleted.

if I 'm not mistaken,there is 2 banned status,
Banned and Banned for life...

what's the difference?

I think that Banned means that u have been banned for a certain amount of time eg: a week
Banned For Life means that u have been dumped from the board completley and will never be able to post again or come on the message boards. They are able to stop u visiting the message boards altogether by banning ur internet provider code from the site.

Is it the same for banning the IP address...forever...and once being banned...are those who were banned also lose the myfreeones ownership ?

Banned can mean temporary or permanent.
Banned4Life is permanent (with an underscore) .

Do any of you really think that posting info about status and indicators for banned members, no matter how innocent your intentions, are going to remain on the board? Just take the extra minute and consider that information and how it may be used by moderators and/or the banned members.

Or you could say that some are very persisant like a certain Maxell/Max/Salem/Island/DrSleep. He's even changed his IP but was soon noticed, as are all banned/banned4life members are, as they soon revert to there old ways. As their true character comes through.

My final word on this subject as to put it plain - Their banned who cares, it was their own fault for not staying within the rules!.

That has happened to me a few times. It's because the mods are power abusive.
