I'd like to throw my two cents in.
First it is incredibly tragic when anyone is infected with HIV and AIDS especially when it can be a prevented with proper actions. So as the porn industry waits this out, scapegoats will bound to be given. Who is to blame? Answer: to VARIEING LEVELS we all are. I know, I know you and I didn't make this guy have the unprotected sex and then have sex with others and so on and so on, but please here my devil's advocate theory.
Why do porn buisnesses and the stars themselves do what they do? Because they like it? (maybe a few-maybe) NO To make others happy w sexual fantasies? To enjoy being societies whipping post for its ills? NO. Why do they do it? Answer: Money.
Before you disagree, do you think most of those involved ( i said MOST) would still do what they do if they could make the same living doing something else? Of course the bottom line for any buisness is to turn a profit so the porn companies do it for money. They prob would make more mainstream movies if that made them more money. (maybe)
And of course with any product you need customers that show the support and demand by putting their dollars in action.........

If pornstar take 2 tests every month I think if one is paid by the stars and one by the companies it should work alright .But what they do outside is their responsibility..I just wish people were a little more responsible

I'd be surprised if there's any industry where safety doesn't take a backseat to profits.

BTW, the part about Sharon Mitchell's reason for retiring was shocking. I hadn't heard that story before. :shocked:

Many performers/models/actors/actresses are banding together, the world over, and "the business" is changing. Of course, there will probably and unfortunately always be lots of people who will just fuck anyone on camera for quick money, but many prominent people in the business will only work with certain/limited groups of others, and they INSIST on regular testing and proof of testing, etc.

Well, despite the terrible possibilites that could stem from this, I can see at least one good thing. The industries reaction and actions taken upon hearing this news. It affirms that the models/actors are not just pieces of meat but are actually treated as people who have lives worth living. It is far to common to find people who pass of porn actors as simply being lesser forms of people, when in fact whats the difference between them and us, nothing. I'm glad the industry cared enough to stop production, go through the possibilities and make sure that the workplace is a safe place to work. For that, we can feel better.

**Edit** - and supposedly, according to my title I just noticed, I'm in love with Ron Jeremy. Its no longer a secret.

Probably just another one of many millions of men worldwide who bathe in hypocrisy as they enjoy watching porn till they squirt all over the keyboard/remote, then suddenly feel dirty and sickened by themselves, and deflect the blame for that guilt onto the pornstars who are really just giving them what they need... men who love to watch fucking but hate that they love it... men who are so repressed that they can't help but seek out depictions of sex, but simultaneously loathe pornstars and think they are disgusting because they sell sex.

Bad thing is is that the industry did take some actions but still there is only a small % shooting with condoms.
