The X-Play episodes from years past were epic. The current version is like American Idol...overproduced, all sizzle and no substance.

I used to watch X-Play religiously. I didn't care what games they were reviewing, I just loved the show. Webb and Ses played off one another very well, the sketch comedy bits were a riot, and (despite infuriating franchise fanboys on occasion) the game reviews were actually good. Hell I even loved the intro! (Before they changed to that silly, "Prepare to be reviewed" comic-book intro that is...that's when the show started going downhill.)

Now...if they review something I'm interested in, I just watch the review on YouTube or something.
Then there are shows like G4TV.com; That was a really good show. It connected with gamers and felt really in tune with the gaming community. There was Cheat, and while it was little more than a doe-eyed host reading cue cards, it wasn't too bad. Cinematech was cool also.

It used to be my favorite network. Now I can't even recall the last time I watched anything on it.

G4TV is nothing compared to TechTV and it's predecessor, ZDTV. It's hard to beat Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton on The Screen Savers. Call for Help was a win, along with Silicon Spin. Good times.

I'm not the biggest Kevin fan...it feels like I'm watching a guy who literally studied Conan O'Brien's mannerisms and attempts to replicate them every night. But I can't watch Hardwick. The sarcastic, overly cynical "nerd" routine doesn't work when you're 40 years old. Neither does pretending every job you do is beneath you. It's like watching Screech pretend he's to big to be on Celebrity Fit Club.

Anybody seen that Olivia's doing a PETA ad? I think the behind the scenes will be on tonight. The day after she was seen spear fishing on the 420 episode. I've actually grown to like Olivia a bit, but man, that's the ultimate proof that PETA and the "celebrities" that do their ads seeking publicity and nothing more. There's video of her chopping up a whole pig with a katana. The bits AotS has done with wasting massive amounts of meat for a goof are endless.

The 420 show was OK. Olivia was in a bikini...unfortunately I think it was her mom's bikini. I still don't get how potheads can be so excited to see anything pot related. I drink way too much whiskey, but I don't hang up Jack Posters in my bedroom or exclaim, "DUDE!" and reach for high-fives every time I see somebody drinking in a movie.

Thanks, man. I think Layla's problem was that she wasn't all that likable when she co-hosted. Plus she went and got knocked up by a douche bag. I know that Munn's career is aided by exposure, but overexposure, especially with this laughably insincere PETA bullshit, might make her come off like a media whore.
