At war with North Korea

Why do you call them ? They are an ally and they are a great country and people. It's in everyone's best interest that we are friends and the foreign aid that we have sent them has been some of the best spent money in the history of the world. Don't believe me? Go there and spend 18 months (or longer, if you wish). It's wonderful. And, as a member of the international community, they do their part:

Go to the bottom and check out their oversees deplyments. The Koreans are doing their part.

They are great allies because of their strategic position close to Communist China, North Korea and formerly the USSR as well as Iran. It's just a base to station troops and weapons so they are ready to fight these countries or intimidate them with their presence, the 'trade' is compensation for this. Why do you think George Bush started sucking up to the likes of Poland and the Czech Republic, how do they differ from any other country? It was to put intelligence gathering equipment there (would have been able to collect information about all movements in Russian airspace up to the Urals mountains which is the whole of European Russia) along with missile launchers as part of the missile defense plan, both Russia and Iran could be reached from there. It's no different to someone making a friend who has connections that can be useful to them, maybe they wanna borrow their car or they can get them a job or they got a hot ****** and so on, International relations are no different (Turkey for use of its airspace during the Iraq war etc).

I guess the funny thing is that you act like any of these points are a bad thing. The whole point to an alliance is that it is mutually beneficial. If you really think that the world is ever going to function differently then go ahead and spread some hatin' on Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Germany and a whole slew of everyone else. Japan went from being a hated enemy to a trusted friend in an eye-blink over what they could do for us. 'dat be da world, my frien'.

Fighting North Korea might result in the destruction of South Korea, but the only way America itself wil be touched is if China gets involved. As far as I know, North Korea lacks the capability to ****** the mainland. But who knows, maybe we will have another Pearl Harbor.

It is alliances like these that cause problems in the long run, they are almost always politically motivated and often leads to another nation becoming a pariah state and increasingly isolated. The USA allied itseld with the Afghan Mujahadeen in the 80s when they wanted them to fight the Soviet Union, the fact that they were religious extremists who were backwards cave dwellers didn't worry the US at the time, but now those same people (only their name has changed) are using their extremism to wage war against the west and are using the weapons and training the CIA gave them to **** coalition troops. Similarly when the US gave Saddam weapons and training so that Iraq could defeat the then hated Iran the US didn't care that he was a ****** dictator that supressed his own people and gassed the Kurds for helping Iran during the war, again decades later this has come back to haunt them. The next one will be Pakistan, for years the US kissed their backsides as they helped them in their wars against India just because India had close ties with Russia, now you have a country full of American weapons and nuclear warheads that is on the brink of being overrun by the Taliban. The fact that the US constantly uses it's Veto on the UN council to stop and action against Israel (no matter what the issue and even when every other UN member ratifies it) doesn't exactly make them seem impartial. Does any of this make any sense? I await the barrage of ***** I usually get when highlighting the flaws and shortsightedness of US Foreign Policy. :2 cents:

Serious ****. North Korea has thousands of artillery and bomber spots readied and aimed at targets in South Korea, and they have for years. This coupled with a potential nuclear capability and a ****** in power with questionable mental stability...watch this closely.

:glugglug:

OK, but you're buying!

Nah, I'll buy. This time.

I just wonder...so we're supposed to "stay the course" in Iraq and Afghanistan and take the war into Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, right? AND bomb Iran and now North Korea. All this while moving troops to the Mexican border (the one aspect I support).

I think I figured it out. We need to investigate war hawks like Sean Hannity and see if they have invested in any casket or prosthesis manufacturers. This reminds me of the opening scene of Yojimbo.

I think after "Dear Leader" kicks the bucket North Korea will have to go the capitalist route, unless they want an internal revolt within their country, they have their own people starving over there.

If the recent military maneuvers didn't bump into each other and spark off a war, then it's going to be planned (most likely). It's been going on long enough that it is good to see the US using patience. This **** could of gone to war many times and that is an understatement.

It's simply intelligent to integrate the peninsula but damn it's expensive. Plus that wouldn't help relations with the US and China, if South Korea's border unified with the North....China's border's going to look like the new DMZ.

That whole think about Saddam and the Kurds, ya the US just felt guilty and had to get back on that.

Let Canada handle it.

...I think they have more military power than oddly dressed Mounties.:dunno:

I've said it before and I will say it again. We have Michael J. Fox. We'll send that guy over to North Korea, and they won't even be able to hit him cause they never know where he will be next.
