Ask a canadian person...

In the spirit of Ask a British Person....... , in this thread, you can ask questions you always had regarding Canada and canadians.

Questions like why most hollywood good comedians are canadians ;)

What is our secret DNA recipe to make hockey players! And our upcomming gold medals in World Junior Competition and Vancouver Winter Olympics :D

Why we end sentences with eh?

Le Cirque Du Soleil success in Las Vegas.

What looked like Céline Dion before her dental operation.

Who is Sir Wilfrid Laurier.

How many times we have defeated USA in war times, and how we set aflame the White House in 1812! :eek:

Our secret relationships with Mooses.

Bring your questions, FreeOners, a canadian will answer!

Can I exchange some quarters with you?

Quarters and dimes?

Not a good idea, Canadian dollar worths less. At this very moment, one Canadian dollar worth exactly 0.805932 U.S. dollars.

Economists predicts it will keep going down to 70ish cents. Few months ago, it was 1,05$ :eek:

No I just figured you had a few american quarters laying around somewhere and we would call it even.

Labatt's or Molson?

I have a personnal preference for Molson (which is also the former owner of the Canadien NHL hockey club).

On the other hand, Labatt is an excellent corporate citizen, providing excellent support to Montreal Just For Laugh/Juste Pour Rire and the Jazz festival.

Molson Dry and Labatt Blue are the most popular beers of respective companies.

If you have to choose between 3 Canadian singers (in different styles of music) who would you choose?

1. Alanis Morisette;
2. Celene Dion;
3. Shania Twain.

Celine Dion was a resident evil in Las Vegas - she can stay there.
Shania Twain can sing? Better turning off the sound and just watching.

Alanis Morisette? Now, thats a canadian singer we can be proud of. She is even born in our capital, Ottawa. She performed the national anthems of Canada and USA a couple of times at Senators games (NHL) - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f9/AlanisMorissette.jpg

Moreover, her character, when she guess starring in Sex And The City, was named... Dawn :D

Okay Dawn. Thanks for the answer.

I prefer both Shania as Alanis, allthough they have a different genre/style of music.

Alanis is more the rockbitch....yeahh!:banger:

Seriously? Morrissette over Twain? :confused::confused::confused:

And "eh" must be a northern Canada thing. Down here I don't think I've ever heard ANYBODY end a sentence with "eh". It is an absurd stereotype.

And what about your favourite Canadian Hockey-player?
Okay, Wayne Gretzky for sure, but others?

Seriously? Morrissette over Twain? :confused:

Shania Twain (like Celine Dion) are too much "american" to be considered canadian, no? There is plenty of canadian female singers to beat them two anyway in my opinion. :D

I'm only using it online, eh! ;)

I'm not sure where this stereotype comes from actually. We aren't using it in Québec. If you aren't using it in Ontario, it have to come from the West. :dunno:
