Anne Hathaway as catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises - What do you think?

I just read in some online magazines that Anne Hathaway will play the part of catwoman in the upcoming Christopher Nolan movie The Dark Knight Rises.
WHat do you think about this?

:drool2:

I guess.

I'm sure they'll make something of her for the movie. I don't know who my first choice would be off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be her.

I lie...maybe Morena Baccarin.:drool2::drool2::drool2: Maybe I'm dreaming. If it's actually possible, she's probably too pretty for the role.

Bull-fuckin'-shit. They're now on their C-D plan for this movie, recycling characters, and the series is just plain played out. End this series right damn now!!!!

Catwoman's a tough role to cast (though anything after the Joker has probably got to be somewhat easier). We have a both a successful and fail baseline reading with Michelle Pfeiffer's interpretation, as well as Halle Berry's in regards to live-action film, as well as numerous animated personas and Julie Newmar's on television. The right Catwoman needs to have a balance of grace, seductiveness, smarts, and compatibility with Batman/Bruce Wayne, both as Catwoman and Selina Kyle. I'm sort of impartial to Anne Hathaway being chosen for the role, but am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt before casting judgment. There certainly could have been worse choices for the role.

Isn't it about time they changed Batmans? And how about bringing back Michelle Pfeiffer as an older Catwoman? Is Julie Newmar dead yet?

Meh...if I had my way I'd cast Tanya Danielle:drool2:, Vanilla DeVille:drool2:, Vicky Vette:drool1: or the sexiest woman around Vega Vixen:drool2::drool2:.. she should probably work on her English but maybe her accent would be a good thing.:)

Don't lose your shit people. I happen to think that Anne Hathaway has charisma. Granted, I am one of the many who didn't didn't find Katie Holmes or Maggie Gyllenhall attractive. Katie was also a terrible actress too, though Maggie did alright. As far as Hathaway is concerned, I'm looking forward to seeing how she sexes it up.

I remember that's what I thought when I had heard they chose Heath Ledger as the Joker. I was wrong. Very wrong. So now, I'm gonna give Nolan the benefit of the doubt for his choice on this one too

I agree. Besides I don't think she'll do worse than Katie Holmes, who was a bad casting choice indeed.

I heard Jessica Biel also auditioned for the role. I can only imagine how that juicy arse would have looked in tight black spandex. Oh well, I'd still smash Anne Hathaway and lets not forget that Mr. Nolan does appear to know what he is doing. This is also his last Batman film, so he will probably be going out with a bang.

It's not just about "how she sexes it up" though, it's about whether she can convincingly play this character. I have serious doubts.
I think she's sufficiently proved that she's a capable actress. My first choice would have been Eva Green but I'm content with Hathaway.

Eva Green would have been a good choice, she would have just had to make her voice a little more American.

I never cared for Katie Holmes or Maggie Gyllenhaal though, I'm relieved that thier character has been retired.

Yeah, but are we not talking about the fact that this series has been reduced to recycling already well played characters? Honestly, they got lucky with the Heath Ledger Joker, and if he didn't tragically pass, I don't know if the role gets the same buzz it did after his death. Michelle Pfeiffer played Catwoman flawlessly, and anyone after will just be a second class bit (shout out to Halle Berry). Nicholsons Joker kills Ledgers, and Tim Burtons interpretation is far and away better than all others.

Let's face it, this concept is built way more for TV than it is the big screen. With shows like Smallville, Heroes, and most recently The Cape, it suprises me that Batman has not been remade for television. This way, the characters have time to develop without rehashing them every couple films. HBO has the budget and the cache... what are they waiting on for this???
