Americanisms

That's it. Right on, man. Listening to Geordies is what I imagine a conversation between Neanderthals sounds like! :1orglaugh:angels:

In answer to your query about the above words. It is our language so we can do whatever we like with it! :thefinger
YES AND SO CAN WE! So sod off, wanker! :moon: :1orglaugh

Oh & enough with the comments about retarded people. Why on earth do you lot think its OK to call people retarded? Another americanism we can do without!
:ban:
QUOTE]

So you think "retard" is an Americanism. Really!? Oh no, no, no! On the contrary, the true Americanism is "mentally-challenged." Retard is the word I would expect to hear among all you sod-stacking, tea drinkers. :D :stir:

By the way, mrtrebus, good sir, you're all "outraged" about the use of retard? Get over it, it's hypocritical. Brits use the offensive word "cunt" as freely as we use the word "dude."

You just got served -- now THAT is an Americanism
How on earth did I "get served"?!? Comparing the use of the word "cunt" to "retard" is incorrect. Retard is comparing someone to a mentally disabled person which is offensive. The use of "retarded" as an insult is an Americanism, sadly making its presence felt here. So I have not been hypocritical.

PS - learn to quote properly please!

 *sigh* First, "retard" is NOT a comparison with a mentally disabled person, a "retard" is a mentally disabled person. And clearly my point went way, WAY over your head. I'm not saying "retard" and "cunt" are synonymous. You say "retard" is an offensive Americanism. I was pointing out that "cunt" is an equally offensive Britishism and, therefore, are comparable. Pointing out the word "cunt" was my counterpoint to you criticizing the use of the word "retard." So you think it's wrong to use "retard" but using "cunt" is OK? If so, then that is indeed hypocritical. What is it that you don't understand about this, friend? Do you need me to draw a picture for you, too? :dunno:

BTW, your quote was fucked up, too. :rofl2: :rofl2: Oh, let me guess, you "intended" to do it that way. You just got served AGAIN.
