Americans ignored the fact -- no, wait -- contributed to the lack of addressing education among African Americans. We expected our fellow Americans to "help themselves" without helping them educationally. That is a multi-generation recipe for disaster that has continued. African Americans continue to suffer from lower median incomes as a result.

We pat ourselves on the back for voting in people like Obama, even give him the Peace Prize, yet he's an immigrant, not a victim of slavery and very doubtfully a man who has been a professional victim of discrimination -- his life was way too late for that. Sorry, but truth. I get tired of people "feeling good" about Obama, yet not realizing that it's really a false sense of "African-Americans arriving."

So we go on ignoring everything from the fact that the slaves just returned to the fields to the Jim Crow laws and countless laws that were designed by our fellow, racist Americans to do the most permanent damage -- prevent African-American families from being allowed to receive an education, so they can live the American dream.

Make a slave, fuck them for a generation. Deny them education, fuck them for many generations. That's what we did. That's why radicals like the Black Panthers started. For the same reason many southerners, who aren't racists but protest others telling them what to do raise the Confederate Flag, African-Americans wear and pay homage to the Black Panthers.

There's a reason why people do. Not because they believe in everything those entities do. But because of the "shock value" involved, hoping people "wake up" to the fact that they came around for a reason.

That's why we bus poor African-Americans to richer, dominately white neighborhood schools. And for the same reason, that's why I advocate that any African-American who is in the top 10-20% of their graduating high school class be giving a free ride through college -- until the median income of African-Americans who have at least one parent of 50% lineage from prior to the 1960s is the same as other Americans.
