Al & Tipper Gore's new $9 million Villa

If I earn that kind of money during speeches, writing a book, a movie, oh and by the way being a former vice president, shit I'll buy that villa too. Stop hatin!!! When he say going Green he's talking about his account too!!!!

Al Gore comes from a wealthy tobacco family. He served in the United States Military. He lost a sister to lung cancer.

If he bought a tincan piece of shit double wide would that get a thread started about him?

The jealousy expressed toward him is nauseating. You can all "talk tough" and huff and puff but this purchase is nothing out of the ordinary for someone as wealthy as he is. It's nothing like what Republican CEOs buy and Republican Politicians buy.

Should we ask Al Gore how many houses he has? I seem to remember John McCain had trouble answering that question.

It's hilarious that conservatives are the new POOR PEOPLE in this country, screaming and raging about "what the other guy has"....

Get a job conservatives and maybe someday you'll be able to buy a home like this one. Hilarious!

He was a photographer in the military. But anyways, I don't like the man.

I have a hell of a lot of repsect for (liberal) Warren Buffett, if that's any consolation. Some people are just phonies. Al is an authentic phony.

My point as I believe I stated in the original post is that this is not an individualist problem. If the governments of the world (who really are the only ones who can curb this problem) aren't going to accept the problem to the extent that it actually is as they have been warned on numerous occasions and stop pussyfooting around the problem with promises of cuts and then failing to meet them then no one individual is going to make a difference. No one has that sort of power, not even Gore.

So what's all this leading by example nonsense? Just because he has becomes a major figure in the discussion of climate change he should be living out in the woods in a mud hut somewhere with every other climate change proponent? No, we as a society have elevated this person to this position and just like any figure we elevate to any level they are bound to feed off of the fruits of our own need - we also forget he was the one time vice president of the US which makes up for his public persona somewhat. The issue really shouldn't be the man or what he does in his spare time, it should be the message he's carrying. But no just like everything else the message gets negated by both sides because the person giving is too photogenic for their own good. What people fail to see is that none of this should be about Gore - but it's made to be by both sides of the argument because people really don't understand what climate change is, so they'd rather criticise the one time messenger because it obviously scores cheap political points.

He has made money off of his message, good for him. He's worked the capital people were willing to give him to his own advantage, isn't this what a good capitalist does? Until we see a change in policy or the US suddenly becomes an outright communist state, I really can't see how he or anyone else who capitalises off of a situation is going to stop. Yes it's reprehensible, but this is how our system works and until that or we change there's really nothing you or I can do about it. But I think I'll say it again because this really isn't the issue; this is in no way a problem for individuals. Those that put themselves forward to the public in order to carry the message do so because they want to further public understanding. But until the public find themselves in a position of understanding enough so that they can choose leaders that will do what needs to be done in order to revert the mess we're already in, we as this celebrity obsessed culture will continue to follow those people who put themselves forward (either knowingly or not) because that's all we know how to do.

Should people listen to Gore's message, yes of course, for the most part he is correct. Should we hold him or anyone else up to this ridiculously high standard, definitely not. Not unless we're willing to look inward and do the same.

Please read only bold text to find the true meaning in this message.

I don't think anyone begrudges people money they earn (well almost), but when that "message" is all about reducing your carbon footprint and be frugal with the environment, this does look a little hypocritical and excessive. :dunno:

...I would like to see more of these lib types exposed as the truly most hypocritical creatures on the face of the earth they are...

There are examples of this kind of blatant, liberal hypocrisy everywhere.

From an interesting book by Peter Schweizer:
Ted Kennedy, champion of a steep inheritance tax, live(d) quite well off a Kennedy family trust that avoids just such a tax — set up on the island of Fiji. Funding Kennedy's inheritance (and nephew Robert's environmentalism) are oil profits enhanced by Kennedy-sponsored depletion allowances.

On projects over which they had direct control of hiring, race-baiting Michael Moore and Al Franken hired a percentage of African-Americans lower than that bastion of "racism," Bob Jones University.

Cesar Chavez Award-winning Nancy Pelosi uses non-union labor to harvest the $2 million crop on her $25 million Napa Valley vineyard. Ralph Nader crusades against corporate greed but personally manages a $2.1 million stock portfolio. Describing the U.S. military as a "fascist institution," Noam Chomsky consults for the Pentagon.

And while
acknowledging that conservatives can be high-profile hypocrites as well [Schweizer argues] that "when conservatives betray their publicly stated principles, they harm only themselves and their families," but when liberals misbehave, they harm their principles first and foremost.

I can't wait to hear from all the liberals who were bashing Rush Limbaugh for his multimillion dollar condo. Is this just as "bad", or is it now suddenly ok because it's Algore and you agree with his politics?

You could say the same for the conservatives who defended Limbaugh and now bash Gore, except for one thing. Limbaugh stands defends the American system of free enterprise, and the success that can come with it when you work hard. Gore, on the other hand, makes speeches imploring people to decrease their standard of living and make due with less in life, all in the name of saving energy and "protecting the environment".

Who is the hypocrite here?

Not exactly the same, as Limbaugh has talked repeatedly about how evil it is to have such wealth, such a house, and such excess. Not Gore's message.

Comparing Gore to Limbaugh is like comparing a twat to an anus. Both have bad aspects. Both have good aspects. But don't criticize for calling them different.

And lots of trees of bushes too. Probably an electric fence in there somwhere as well for any would-be perps. It would be nice to be stinking rich. It is funny though, I swear I've seen houses that size in the $2-4 mill range in Dellwood. What a fuckin a-hole Al is to splurge so flagrantly.

Al's fuckin electricity for the fence takes more power than Cleveland uses!

He made for himself a living.
The only thing Al Gore has ever made is his image, definitely not himself. There is this farce out there who Al Gore is. There is a farce on what he's done.

I've been following Gore since the late '80s, as have other people. Any time he spoke at college campuses, for years there was a joke played on him called "buzzword bingo." He has been caught by so many respected correspondents on so many hypocritical statements (like Bush Sr.'s tax increase, which Gore was behind -- that's my all-time favorite, because it was caught live) that I consider him the ultimate politician of the last 3 decades.

As much as people get on W., they have really never looked at Gore close enough to see the reality. People really should look at Gore's family, his Tennessee history and how he has carried himself. It's absolutely disturbing. It always has been for many people.

As I have repeated mentioned, Jimmy Carter was deserving of the Peace Prize. Al Gore's honoring of the same basically negated any value many people put into it. I won't even touch Obama's award, that's been covered enough. The Nobel Peace Prize has quickly become a political statement, not recognizing people who have done anything of value for it.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. Frankly, considering Al Gore, I think this is minor. What has always bothered me about Al Gore is what has always bothered me about many politicians.

"Do as I say not do as I do."

Like Bill Clinton on women's rights, Al Gore on the environment and corporate self-interest has always pissed me the f-off. I can cite many things of value about Clinton, putting two aspects of his personal history aside (everyone always has a few). I come up absolutely empty with Gore every single time.

Remember, Gore was the big pusher of NAFTA because he personally benefited from it. Ross Perot tried to point that out and warn people about NAFTA being a special interest bill, including filling the Gore family's coffers. People didn't believe it, but those who read it and researched the over 100 companies it directly benefited, there were many ties to the Gore family.

It's funny that W. is blamed for NAFTA today, or lack of ratification of Kyoto. He wasn't even around for either, let alone Gore's Senate under the Clinton administration couldn't even convince 1 Democrat to vote for Kyoto.

It's is very hypocritical and excessive! His silly "carbon footprint" is out of control. But these type of nut-jobs are all about, "Do as I say, not as I do." morons anyways.

She probably leaving him because he won't shut up about her gas passing and how she is contributing to man-made global warming.
