I agree. I love all types of music from Metal, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Pop, and Country. I find it weird that people will say something is not music just because they don't necessarily like it and then I find out that they mostly listen to Metal. How is the genre where the lead singer is practically screaming into the microphone and most times you can't understand what he's saying unless you look at the lyrics, music but someone like Mariah Carey apparently isn't a musician?:dunno:

I listen to all types of music, and I have heard some of his material, he is decent, but I am not a fan per say, that said I have to throw out the card on this issue of not knowing his true age!

He has to have a Social Security card, visa / passport to travel, birth certificate??? the only way he couldn't know his real age is if he had amnesia and no family members or friends knew his Birthdate, or to go out on a limb maybe he is an orphaned familyless child and NOBODY actually knows his real birthdate, but I find that hard to believe, btw, I DIDN'T even care to read the article so I don't know if any of the reasons I could think of, were covered in that article! :dunno:

and one last question to all? what is the benefit in saying he doesn't know his age? he gains nothing from making himself look dumb, ignorant, stupid, naive, to claim he doesn't know his age??? he just invites ridicule and skepticism of anything he says?? :eek:

Most heavy metal bands feature members that know how to play instruments and read and compose musical notes, which is what I would say makes the distinction between someone who was a musician, and someone like Akon or Mariah Carey who is a singer.

But it depends on your definition of music, technically any audible sound could be considered music. Dogs fucking could be music.

Exactly. Some people listen to hardcore death metal and think that it's music. Other people listen to hardcore death metal and want to punch the people who made it.

The classification of "music" is completely subjective and varies from individual to individual.

In some locations around the world (usually third world countries), many people don't know their true age, simply because it isn't considered important.

When I traveled around Africa, when I asked people how old they were, they'd calculate it not according to any calendar, but by making reference to a significant event such as a flood or a drought, etc. Birth certificates are sometimes acquired long after the actual birth, and they simply add any old date.

I like FreeOnes, love posting here, but I have noticed there are not a lot of Hip Hop fans. I was surprised to see even the name "Akon" mentioned.

Akon has had a lot of chart-toping songs. Including holding the number 1 and 2 spot simotaniously, twice. No artist has ever done that! I was surprised no one heard of him.

I'm a huge hip hop fan so I know who Akon is. I don't own any of his music, but I've liked a lot of hits, had some nice club-bangers.
