Admit it, assari. David Hasselhoff is a guilty pleasure of yooz guys in the Europe-istan.
There are three problems related to Mr. Hasselhoff.
1. He is an American so it would be strange if he would take a part and win the competition which is intended only for Europeans
2. He is a big star so he would steal all the attention
3. He is a hard-core capitalist who has a alcohol-problem

Orginally it was very conservative event and the music was the most important thing.
It is wrong if a freak performers gets pity points.
It is good that the marginal groups can take part in the Eurovison Song Contes, but disability or sexual orientation should not be a reason for victory.
It is wrong if the 2014 Eurovison Song Contes winner won because he is a transexual, it is ok if he won because his song was good.

In case any of you americans want to do a trip here to Europe, you will experience a lot of even basic things that are VERY different than in the USA. Here are a couple:
I could add that in restaurants or at home, we cut our steaks etc. as we eat it, I heard that in the USA, it is common practice to first cut it into pieces and then just use the fork. That way, we use only for little children or handicapped people who need help. And regarding the service in restaurants... it IS less submissive or friendly, as that can be perceived, as the basic wage is better than in the USA. Not everywhere, though. My advice, if you do your best ordering in an understandable manner (And in the language of the country you are in), you get good service.
And now another video, a band named "Europe" had a HUGE one-hit success with this:
Strangely, they are NOT finnish - they come from Sweden :stir:
