6 Songs Used to Torture & Intimidate

Playing an annoying song over and over to get someone to spill their guts might sound like a gag from a Mel Brooks movie, but it’s actually become a standard practice. An article by an NYU musicologist in the Journal of the Society for American Music details how music was regularly used in interrogations on bases in Iraq and Afghanistan as a method of inducing disorientation to get suspects to talk without inflicting physical force. Here are some of the songs used by military and law enforcement entities to get their suspects to sing.

I knew that fucking Barney song was evil! :crash:

Who would give in this type of torture? This doesn't make sense to me.

You can say the volume would cause a lot of pain and discomfort in the ears of someone, but that would just make the song irrelevant.

Didn't they use this kind of thing like 20 years ago when they were trying to flush out Noriega from that Vatican Embassy?

"musicologist "......I want that job....

the torturing at beeing forced to listen to some music 24hours a day is not the volume or the fact that its the barney theme song (although it is pure fucking evil) but that you can't sleep then. and you can actualy die because of not sleeping

i've read somewhere else that they used deicide for that too

That Barney song alone would do it for me.
