An article by an NYU musicologist in the Journal of the Society for American Music details how music was regularly used in interrogations on bases in Iraq and Afghanistan as a method of inducing disorientation to get suspects to talk without inflicting physical force. Here are some of the songs used by military and law enforcement entities to get their suspects to sing.

You can say the volume would cause a lot of pain and discomfort in the ears of someone, but that would just make the song irrelevant.

the torturing at beeing forced to listen to some music 24hours a day is not the volume or the fact that its the barney theme song (although it is pure fucking evil) but that you can't sleep then. and you can actualy die because of not sleeping

i had to listen to celine dion for prolonged periods of time a few years ago (she made a deal with air canada where she pretended that she wanted to be a stewardess as a child, and performed one of her retarded songs for them. they paid her a million bucks). it is torture.
