Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
A horrible tragedy....RIP to the fallen heroes, both American and Afghan. :crying:

That said....I'm surprised this hasn't happened more frequently. It also makes me very angry that we are still fighting this idiotic war....:wtf: are we still doing over there? What is the goal we are trying to attain? This is already the longest armed conflict in which we have been involved in the history of the USA and there is no end in sight.

We need an exit strategy and we need it now. No more lives (or dollars) wasted on this ridiculous effort at nation-building! Fuck Afghanistan. And no more blaming Bush for this....this isn't Bush's war anymore....it's Obama's.

If the story about members of Seal Team 6 onboard are true, then this is horrible action has Pakistan written all over it.

I agree 100% (and that's rare!). :goodpost:

If that's the case, how did the Pakis get the intel reqd to confirm which particular Chinook carried members of the elite Seal Team 6?

We can only suspect O-º.

I've never heard of anything like this before.. I thought that the identity of our elite forces was absolutely positively something that was to be kept confidential. . . even from the president. :dunno:

(hopes that lose lips sank no ships... I kinda wonder though)

It's supposed to be a secret.

Do you expect a group of terrorists to invade other countries, occupy them, bomb them indiscriminately, kill their women and their children daily and not recieve any backlash in return?

Fuck me, Im glad evertime when the bad guy actually gets it, I am not so brainwashed as to think the US is in anyway the good guy.

We lost 31 soldiers doing their job to kill murderers who would gladly separate your head from the rest of your body without batting an eye.
Honor those who do what we are unable to do. Honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

R.I.P.

It seems a lot of the worst days over there have happened with incidents with helicopters. There a very useful tools, but if the people in them get unlucky or are at the wrong place at the wrong time helicopters can also be sitting ducks.

If I had invaded Afghanistan and was kiling innocent civilians then I would deserve to have my head separated from the rest of my body

They were doing nothing to protect me, they were doing nothing to protect any American from anything. Those illiterate goat fucking idiots in Afghanistan are not a threat to any American and have never been.

How about the US soldiers actually protect America for a change and start policing the southern border against a real threat?

The most powerful nation in the world cant even police its own borders, how disgusting is that. The US can go all around the world invading and killing innocents, but they cant even stop real criminal murderers from walking across the US border?

Having US soldiers invading foreign countries and killing their citizens actually makes me as an American less safe. It makes people hate me because of the actions of my criminal government, it makes people want to do harm to me to seek revenge for the crimes that my government has commited against them and their people. Not to mention that my government is bankrupt because of these criminal wars, which further puts me in danger as an American.

They already hate you. They hated you before any American boots or bombs touched the ground.

Jenkum...wow

There is something to be said that the Taliban and Al Qeida and how won't be dropping troop transports onto American beaches etc... but they threaten our allies and interests abroad. Cause enough disturbance to people that help us function and you hurt us. Or ...like 911 attack us directly in a sneak attack.

I'm not for war; I wasn't for going into Iraq. Afghanistan however I really wanna kick their dicks in.

I've said it before: this war will not end until all of them are dead...or all of us. That is exactly the way the Taliban and their like-minded compatriots think.

Because it's all they have.

People are motivated by inspiration or desperation; they've been in desperation mode since the West came out of the dark ages.

They refuse to go back to the time when they were intellectually advancing at an amazing pace and embracing tolerance and secularism. They've decided to go back to the nomadic pre history way of life and it's going to get them killed...by us...because they refuse to adapt.

Everyone in America was for the Taliban (Afghan) War aside from pacifists.

A large portion of those against the Afghan war were realists, experts on Afghanistan and people who thought the invasion was lawless and the rationale full of holes.

They've turned out to be right in the end.

The world's most sophisticated armies have been humbled by a poorly armed guerilla movement.
