30 Best Guitar Rifs Of All Time.

I wish there was a vid of Starship Troope by YES. That is the best damn guitar solo ever in my opinion. The studio version. The LIVE version is ok, but the studio version kicks ass.

Sam, gotta tell you once more: The two of us seem to have a love/hate relationship going on ;)

You music threads are GREAT

If only you would stop throwing up those gun/Obama/etc threads.

'sigh', well I can always hope

Back on topic:

I don't agree with every placement of riffs in this video (Thank you for sharing that one), but all in all, those are some of the best of the best.

Guess what, Supa.... No more political threads for me. I think everyone knows where I stand. So, once again... my political threads on FO are over.

:nanner:

Wait... only if you watch the link of the YES video I posted. :D

I must admit that you have a pretty good taste, Sam.

The only one I don't agree with is Eye Of The Tiger. I would have Beat It before Eye Of The Tiger.

This is my alltime favourite guitar riff:

Excellent choice, Patrick. I'd have to say this song has several of my all time favorite riffs, especially the closer:

I'm surprised Seven Nation Army was on there. I was going to jump the gun and complain about it's omission before even watching the video.

Also, GTFO here with G'n'R at #1. There's 25 riffs better than that annoying ass lick on that list alone. No Crazy Train? Paranoid? Back In Black? Sweet Emotion? Only one song from the human riff? No Slayer? No Maiden?

There's some memorable riffs on here, but I wouldn't call them the greatest.

I was wondering if they'd get around to "Black Dog". I hate GnR, and am not impressed by pretty much anything they do, so I'm gonna have to disagree with all of those. I wish I could make vids like this, because I would drop the fucking hammer of metal on that list.

Whoever made the video in the first post seriously need to get over his/her Guns n´ Roses obsession. Sure, Appetite For Destruction was a great album, but the only riff that belongs on the list is the one from Sweet Child of Mine.

To leave out Chuck Berry´s Johnny B. Goode is just completely ridiculous.

And this one should of course also have been there:

This one is also awesomer than most of the riffs on that list.

To be honest, some on the video I posted don't do a thing for me. youtube has a bunch of "best guitar rifs". I wasn't going to sift through all of them to post one that I thought was the best. I threw this one up there as an example of some good rifs. Was sorta hoping the thread would have continued along the same lines of the - "Songs from the (decade) threads. Please, feel free to post the rif vids you like too.

:)

I like that song. My problem with it:

They keep holding back, and I WISH they would kick into top gear something like 2/3 through the song.

Like, in THIS song. Now that is power and dynamics :2 cents:

Thank you for toning down your political rants, bro :lovecoupl
