24788, What in the Sam Hell is it With All These Potholes?

:scream:

My friend,

I cannot take it anymore. I do not want to drive anymore. The "streets" are not drivable.

Am I the only one who thinks a dirt road in a Third World country would be preferable to this madness that are our (northern) American roads? I have never had such an unpleasant winter driving experience in my entire 20 some years as the one over the course of the last three months. Other northerners feel free to weigh in.

Opine.

:crash:

Sometimes I step in one and twist my ankle. I've also gotten a few flat tires and a nasty crash or two riding my bike into these wretched things.

A couple years ago, a guy was riding his bike on the street, hit one, fell off his bike and got hit by an oncoming car. lol. Apparently he was having a bad day.

You have no idea how freakin' ungodly these goddamned things are in my city. I just had my car realigned because of some stupid shit I did last winter, and I'm afraid the whole damn front end is gonna come off as vile as some of these holes are. It is literally undrivable in some areas (quite a few more than I would prefer).

Take some pictures!!! I want to see these canyons. We should compare cities and do a poll to see whose are worse!!

I know. The thing is, some of the roads are just a shitload of little ones, so it's just like riding in a shit storm of shittiness. My CD player is literally no good on some of them. I'm more afraid of the cops pulling me over than anything, because I drive like I'm in a frickin bumper car trying to avoid all the miserable little shits.

A lot of them are like this:

I was dodging them left and right when I went out earlier. The big ones too. This is the worst year I can remember for these things.

Got same problem here! I've been pulled over for a breath-test twice since january because of dodging the bastards.

Oh no. In Denmark too? With all those high taxes? Are the cops that viscious over there?

I just swerve around them. It's like an obstacle course.

You bet your ass it's an obstacle course. You'd think with all the great minds out there they'd be able to conjure up a way to make roads that last, for chrysakes. I think it's a BIG money maker for govt's all over. Always see a crew of half a dozen or so every few blocks and half of them are sitting there holding their balls. The American way!

They're particularly bad here where I live too. The city has been millions in the red for about 5 or 6 consecutive years, we've had very harsh winters, and they haven't been maintaining the city plows well. Put all that together, and you get a bad plow tearing up the asphalt.

Turns out, quite a few cities/counties are getting a whack 'o money from the federal government to fix roads. It's a "make-work" project aimed at benefiting cities and helping the unemployment rate in particularly hard hit areas.

There. More info than you actually wanted.

That's trolling and it's against the rules. I have already notified the proper authorities. :nono:

I've reported this post, as well as each of your last 146 posts prior.

Why report exactly 147 posts, you ask? Because Luxbore, from Plenetia Prime contacted my inner psyche and said that's the right number.

Hiliary 2020
remember its march, end of winter, much of the damage to the streets is caused by the salt, ice and plows.
but i believe you bss, i say give it until May to be corrected, if its not by then its just good old incompetence and/or the result of an overburdened local economy/tax system, but finding money for tar and some people fix the holes shouldnt be so hard or expensive.
in a perfect world the county would show welfare folks how to place the tar and have them do it, or even prisoners from the county jail.
