*2017 European Elections* - Candidates, Statistics, Campaign Timelines, Debates

82% of Irish are christians (78% catholics), 10% are atheists.
Still, 60° of Irish voted for a gay candidate

Suck it up, morons, Europe has fully entered the 21 century while the US decided to stay in the 20th

That is true. There are two trains rolling, the european train is rolling up the 21st century, the US choo-choo train is steaming back into the 19th century

Soon us europeans have to start forming simpler sentences. like your leader who shows how your mindset is heading towards

SAD!

Two Europeans, one from France, one From Germany, chest beating about globalism and the 21st century.
You fuckers are just pissed that the U.S. isn't going to be a part of the Paris Ponzi scheme that redistributes 100 billion of American taxpayer money to third world countries.

America leads, it doesn't follow and to lead sometimes that means looking out for our best interests.

It's about time you fuckers learn to fend for yourselves.

3 days from now we remember D-Day.

It's especially rich that the both of you are preaching to us and bemoaning our leadership.

Dat Omaha Beach tho.

You're absolutely right. Let's just rather let your so-called "President" redistribute that money into the pockets of his cronies.

Nah, he's not a hypocrite like your "so called chancellor" who is still promoting coal because renewables can only provide about 4 percent of your energy needs.

If it weren't for us, you'd be speaking German now.

Nope.
If it wasn't for the US, the soviets would ha finished the nazis, it would just have taken more time.
The turning point of the war was Stalingrad. In February 1943 when the battle ended by the defeat of the nzis, Hitler had lost the war. As a matter of facts what decided the US to go fight the nazis in Europe was that they didn't wanted to let the whole Europe fall in the hands of Stalin.

If you think pulling out of the agreement, going back coal, etc. is in your best interests, you're myopic because in the short run it may look costly but in the long run, green business is gonna get huge, it's gonna generate a lot of money, create many jobs, etc.

Teresa May brought that on herself. The Conservatives had won the quite big in 2015 (330 of the 650 seats, super-majority). She could have maintained that until 2020 but the thogh she had it all covered and that having the election in 2017 rather than 2020 would guarantee her victory. In the end she lost her super-majority and the Conservatives now must deal with other small parties to form a government.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...

I guess some will think I'm glad the conservatives lost ? I'(m not : May will now have to deal with the Liberal-Democrats which is a center-right pro EU party. They would like a "soft" Brexit when My is pushing for a "Hard" Brexit. I'm with May on this issue : I want the EU to have as few relations with the UK as possible.

Two weeks ago it was looking like the Conservatives would win in a landslide. May thought she would win a large majority and that would strengthen her hand with Brexit. It couldn't have gone more wrong for her. Her hand is now weakened. It's 50/50 that she survives the weekend

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I read a few stories about her last night, just because this result was such a shocker. Most articles said that during her campaign stops she appeared rather robotic, and couldn't do much other than repeat campaign slogans over and over when she was asked questions. She has also apparently developed a reputation as a weak flip-flopper and not so strong on policy positions. One article quoted some of her own staff as referring to her as "[NOBABE]Theresa May[/NOBABE]... or Maybe Not".

I don't follow British politics. But if her own party doesn't take her head, I'll be surprised.

Was watching the election coverage last night and I was flipping between BBC News, ITV and Sky News. Their news coverage there in the U.K is so much better than the crap we have here. I'm envious.

British medias are very diverse. The UK has both some of the most respected news outlets such as The Guardian or BBC News and some of the most despicable tabloids, such as The Sun

I'm with Johan and Cuck on that. Once upon a time CNN covered news around the world. Stationed everywhere and first to report. A global agency. Today it's 10 minutes of reporting and 96 hours of commentary with 6 heads talking at the desk. Throw in the prime time and that's their 24 hour news cycle. I only mention CNN because I won't pay extra cable dollars to look at the rest. So glad that I can switch to those guys hunting for Bigfoot on The History Channel.

Now, in 20 Days, on the 24th of September 2017, Germany elects its new governing coalition - that is safe to say, as none of our party is expected to gain the needed majority of votes. It will be a coalition of two or three parties.

First, here is some basic info about our electoral system:

I won't inclöude any extensive polls, as it is only safe to say this:

Noone knows how this will play out.

But it is pretty safe to say that the CDU/CSU will come out on top, probably above 30 percent, and the SPD, being still in a coalition with them, propbably come in in the twenties. The Green Party, The Linke ((Formerly in pat, the GDR SED), the new "Alt-Right" AfD, and the liberal FDP, they will probably get between 5 and 18 percent, that is VERY hard to guess.

A little update, less than a week before election...
