*2016 US Presidential Elections* - Candidates, Statistics, Campaign Timelines, Debates

Two wrong predictions I've made

1. I didn't think Sanders would give Clinton much competition. I was wrong

2. I didn't think Trump would sustain his lead past the summer. I was wrong

Democrats outraged at Michigan governor over Flint water crisis

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders made a point of calling out Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder at the Democratic presidential debate Sunday night over the Flint water crisis

Both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders made a point of calling out Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder at the Democratic presidential debate Sunday night over his handling of the tainted water crisis plaguing Flint, Michigan.

President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in Flint on Saturday, and the attorney general there has pledged to investigate. Sanders had already called on Snyder, a Republican, to step down, but Clinton used the opportunity of her closing statement at the debate to argue that if the crisis had happened in a rich Detroit suburb, Snyder would have been quicker to act.

Clinton said she sent a top campaign aid to meet with the mayor of Flint and said she had gone on a TV show to call for action.

"I think every single American should be outraged," Clinton said. "We've had a city in the United States of America where the population, which is poor in many ways and majority African-American, has been drinking and bathing in lead-contaminated water. And the governor of that state acted as though he didn't really care."

Sanders repeated his call for Snyder to resign.

"Secretary Clinton was right and what I did, which I think is also right, is demanded the resignation of the governor. A man who acts that irresponsibly should not stay in power," Sanders said.

Snyder responded quickly with a series of tweets, including one which read, "Political statements and finger pointing from political candidates only distract from solving the Flint water crisis."

I guess the reason why GOP candidates never said anything about this is that they don't want to blame a Republican governor. They choosed the party over the people...

Sarah Palin is endorsing Trump. (I guess we will be seeing Tina Fey on SNL this week ;)

The Governor of Iowa has pretty much endorsed anybody but Ted Cruz. (Really how can Cruz be polling so high when just about everybody who has met him, hates him???)

I'm no political analyst, I just play one on here. But I immediately dismissed Trump's candidacy as a joke like so many pundits. I think my exact quote on here was "The Donald ain't gonna do shit."

But you know who took him seriously as a candidate from the get go? BC did. And if Trump wins Iowa, he could just run the table with the lead he has in New Hampshire.

The moral of this cool story bro - when BC talks, people should listen.

I wish you'd tell that to my daughter ;)

Not happy with Trump. I am against ethanol subsidies, and he is talking like an estab now. I don't trust him.

Palin is annoying, not because she didn't endorse Cruz but because I think she's a phoney too. She resigned as governor for the spotlight and the big bucks. Her damn voice is annoying too.

I want Cruz to win but if not I'll take Rubio.

Trump if I absolutely have to.

I agree. Hearing that voice is like having an ice pick driven through your forehead over and over. Has an coked-out Edie McClurg quality to it. She's more of a gift to liberals than an asset to conservatives.

You've been on a roll lately, my man.

A lot of pundits think Rubio is Goldilocks, Trump is too hot and Cruz is too cold. ;)

Not any answer. Funny...

I guess Republicans are right not to give a fuck about the real problesm of the American people : Americans don't give a fuck either...

That situation is a perfect example of free capitalism, GOP style. That is exactly how things go when there is no oversight and no regulations in place and inforced hard. And of course, it appears to be a black community, and a not wealthy, at that. They do not matter, of course, which is demonstrated for months, and no presidental republican candidate even mentioning it - and no debate moderator mentioning it, that is how the GOP and FOX roll

Ben Carson Becomes First GOP Candidate To Weigh In On Flint Water Crisis

And he managed to blame everyone but Michigan's Republican governor.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson on Tuesday became the first GOP presidential candidate to speak out on the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, blaming local leadership and federal authorities for failing to address the high levels of lead that have left the city's tap water largely unusable.

"Unfortunately, the leaders of Flint have failed to place the well-being of their residents as a top priority," said Carson, a Michigan native, in a statement to The Huffington Post. "The people deserve better from their local elected officials, but the federal bureaucracy is not innocent in this as well. Reports show that the Environmental Protection Agency knew well-beforehand about the lack of corrosion controls in the city’s water supply, but was either unwilling or unable to address the issue."

The EPA was closely involved in last year's government response to the water crisis, which had been caused by switching the city's water source to the Flint River while Flint was under the control of an emergency manager appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder (R). In December, Snyder appointed a task force to investigate the crisis, which determined the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality was mostly to blame for the city's poisonous water, prompting the quick resignations of several officials.

But Carson didn't mention the Snyder administration or other state leaders, and claimed the current situation in Flint is proof of the broader ineffectiveness of government regulations.

"This is yet another sad demonstration that, even in the face of a clear public health crisis, our regulations aren’t effective in protecting our citizens," he said. "Our government leaders must place 'We the People' first and foremost in every decision they make. That’s why I remain committed to real, meaningful regulatory reform. The residents of Flint have sadly borne the burden of this government failure, and will continue to do so for years to come. They deserve better -- from both their local and federal officials."

At least he seems to care about the well-being of the residents. But he also cares about blaming the federal government, the EPA and goivernment regulations rather than the state republican administration and the lacfk of regulations, which are the main causes of the crisis.

I wish the Tea Party faithful would stop giving this twit any attention. You all know how I feel about Obama, but no way would his daughters behave like Palin's kids do.

If she spent more time with her kids instead of lining her pockets and flying all over the country with the donor class, maybe her daughter wouldn't be knocked up by every boyfriend she has. And her son wouldn't be a stinking drunk.

It appears that the big media outlets stay on the old rhetoric. Funny that Hillary Clinton goes after him not getting much assistance in senate for his bills, and the very media coverage states he hios "more likeable" than "more electable". I tzhink it is a good thong that very soon, when the first primaries are in, we will see who gets the majority oftherespective votes left and right.

Bernie Sanders’ surge reflects likability, not voter shift, analysts say

Sen. Bernard Sanders has ridden an avowedly socialist agenda, including government-sponsored college and health care for all, to the top of the polls, not only in the Democratic presidential contest but also in head-to-head matchups against Republicans.

But analysts said the Vermont senator’s rise is not an indication that the country is ready to embrace his full agenda, attributing his polling numbers to personal popularity rather than a leftward tilt by voters.

“They like him better. When he wins polls, it’s because they like him better. They see him as more honest and more authentic than Secretary Clinton,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

.. and I think it is still a little early to bet on Trump, even though I would rather place a bet on him now.

I predicted it on Tuesday, that Tina Fey would open tonight's SNL show, and she did, somehow making sense of Sarah Palin's ramblings. Hope you have it on Tivo or can find it on Youtube it's an instant classic.

Seriously though, Palin is a dangerous lunatic.
