*2016 US Presidential Elections* - Candidates, Statistics, Campaign Timelines, Debates

Remember when Fox News anchors used to demonize rap culture.

Well, now O'Reilly, Hannity and their pals are gonna loooove rap.

Geraldo the conservative Ben Carson apologist. Same with O'Reilly.

Do you actually watch Fox News? Or is this what was filtered to you through whatever websites you frequent?

And Ben Carson, who said appearing on SNL was beneath someone running for the serious office of president, but releases this shitty ditty.

I liked Trump's rendention of Hotline better.

I get sick and tired of these types of comments by politicians and pundits. People need to realize that it's the year 2015 and that the majority of Americans don't get their news from 60 Minutes and the nightly news. And Republicans wonder why young people don't vote for them? This is why I love what the president is doing right now in terms of public relations. He's embracing new media. The president has his own Twitter account that he actually uses himself and just today he got his own FB page. He's done interviews with YouTube content creators, VICE News, Re/code, Vox, BuzzFeed, Mic, WTF with Marc Maron podcast and Funny or Die. Ya know, stuff that people actually read/watch!! He's set the bar on how politicians should approach the media going forward and I only hope that whoever follows him, Democrat or Republican, can continue this approach

Just today? Way to keep up, Barack. And right after that, he signed up for myspace.

Trump was on SNL but I haven't seen any of it yet.

If Trump is elected, it'll be because of, in essence, all of what you mentioned. He'll be our celebrity/reality president.

And I think he'll be great or a total f'n disaster.

Did you know that Mitt could have won 70 percent of the Hispanic vote and still lost the election?
Trump is polling well with black voters. 25 percent.

And he is doing well with Reagan Democrat types.
This is going to be a crazy election.

Trump has the best chance to win among the GOP. But Hillary still has to be the favorite.

A woman still hasn't proven she can win the general. She still has to get men besides Democrat beta males to vote for her . my best friend is a life long yellow dog Democrat. He will never vote for her.

Ted Cruz: An Atheist 'Isn't Fit To Be' President

Not only that, but a president should begin every day with prayer.

Presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Friday that he believes anyone who wants to be president must fear God and pray daily.

Speaking at the National Religious Liberties Conference in Iowa, Cruz joined other GOP presidential candidates for a discussion about the persecution of Christians in the U.S. and around the world. After some very extreme, very weird comments about homosexuality, right-wing pastor Kevin Swanson introduced Cruz to the stage to ask him how important it was for candidates to submit to Jesus Christ as "the king of the President of the United States."

"Any president who doesn't begin every day on his knees isn't fit to be commander-in-chief of this country," responded Cruz.

Christianity has long been a part of Cruz's political identity. Since his election to the U.S. Senate in 2012, Cruz has been a regular feature at conservative Christian gatherings and on radio programs, where he's repeatedly taken on "radical atheists and liberals," whom he's accused of trying to strip religion out of the public sphere. His father, Rafael Cruz, is an evangelical pastor who has attracted controversy over the past few years with scathing anti-gay sermons and attacks on "Kenyan socialist" President Barack Obama.

As atheist blogger Hemant Mehta points out, Cruz stops short of explicitly suggesting that nonbelievers -- or simply those who don't pray every morning -- should be barred from holding public office. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, also running for the GOP presidential nomination, however, appeared to run afoul of the Constitution's language against a "religious test" for public office earlier this year, when he said that a Muslim couldn't be president because of their faith.

Atheists are one of the most politically underrepresented groups in the U.S. According to the most recent Pew survey on religious affiliation, about 3 percent of Americans identify as atheist and 4 percent identify as "agnostic," all part of the nearly 23 percent who say they're "unaffiliated" with any particular religion. Despite those numbers, there are no openly atheist members of Congress, and only a handful of U.S. politicians who identify as unaffiliated, or who have chosen not to identify a specific religion.

While Cruz's remarks about the political viability of nonbelievers may be more of a personal opinion than a legal analysis, his views aren't out of line with the American mainstream. A Gallup poll published earlier this year found that only 58 percent of Americans would vote for an atheist presidential candidate, a 4 percent increase from a similar survey in 2012.

I don't care if the President prays daily or not. I don't care if he fears God or not. I even don't care if he fears Allah, Jehovah, Shiva, Zeus, Osiris, Teutates, Odin or whatever. As long as he doeszn't shove his religion down my throat. But I think a president's time would be more appropriately used reading (litterature our reports) and thinking than praying to any skygod...

Anyway, a few weeks ago we had Carson telling muslims wouldn't be fit to be president, no we have Ted Cruz telling that presidents should start their day praying. I kinda see where this is going...

There was someone that asked me "why does someone fear God?" The God that is supposed to love you?

They have no understanding of what God fearing means and is why I didn't even bother to try and explain it to them.

Ben Carson may have fabricated a story about being the 'most honest' student while at Yale

After hosting a raucous press conference Friday evening to respond to several questionable claims about his past, Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson may have more explaining to do.

The Wall Street Journal fact-checked another claim in the retired neurosurgeon's 1990 autobiography, "Gifted Hands," and found more evidence of a potentially fabricated story. The Journal's Reid Epstein reported:

"Mr. Carson writes of a Yale psychology professor who told Mr. Carson, then a junior, and the other students in the class—identified by Mr. Carson as Perceptions 301—that their final exam papers had “inadvertently burned,” requiring all 150 students to retake it. The new exam, Mr. Carson recalled in the book, was much tougher. All the students but Mr. Carson walked out.

The professor came toward me. With her was a photographer for the Yale Daily News who paused and snapped my picture,” Mr. Carson wrote. “‘A hoax,’ the teacher said. ‘We wanted to see who was the most honest student in the class.’” Mr. Carson wrote that the professor handed him a $10 bill."

However, The Journal spoke with Yale Librarian Claryn Spies, who said that there was never a class called Perceptions 301 at the school, and a search of YDN turned up no sign of such a picture.

It's another confounding instance of inaccuracies in anecdotes about the life and belief system of Carson.

A CNN story earlier in the week researched claims that Carson had made in his autobiography about having a violent streak as a teenager, attacking his mother with a hammer and attempting to stab a friend. Carson claimed that it was those instances in his past that caused him to find God and assume a calming temperament.

But CNN wasn't able to find anyone from Carson's past to corroborate his stories of past violence, and most remembered him as the same soft-spoken person he is today. Carson argued many of those stories happened as much as 50 years ago.

Politico also disputed a story in "Gifted Hands" — and one Carson has told repeatedly on the campaign trail — in which he said he turned down a scholarship offer from the US Military Academy at West Point. It turns out that Carson never applied to West Point.

During the press conference on Friday, Carson admitted that he had never received a scholarship offer from West Point. But he said he had received encouragement to attend after meeting with a top US Army general.

On Friday he hit back at the media for supposedly inventing controversy.

"There is a desperation on behalf of some to try to find a way to tarnish me because they have been looking through everything," Carson said. "They are getting desperate. So next week it'll be 'my kindergarten teacher who said I peed in my pants.' I mean, it's ridiculous!"

So, Carson wasn't the violent kid he claim he was. But why lying ? Why pretending you attacked your own mom with a hammer, that horrible.
Because it's prt of a narrative he's serving to the republican voters, to th white evangelist voters : the story of the black thug who's ben saved by Jesus.

Ben Carson fabricated much of his youth in his autobigraphy to fit a narrative aimed telling republican voters what they wanna hear.

Carson has never been my first choice for president but these attacks on him are starting to make a lot of people sympathetic to him, me included.

Where were the God damned fact checkers for Barack Obama when he was running? Dreams from/of my Father utilized a ghost writer and there are plenty of inconsistencies embellishments half truths. Flat out lies.. Whatever you want to call them.

Not to mention, Selma causing his conception, now we have a lying cunt running for president that admitted a YouTube video causing a terrorist attack was a fucking lie, not to mention playing the American people for fools by keeping a personal server because she wanted to be above the law and protocol and make backroom deals for her phony foundation. Keep pounding Carson motherfuckers and you are going to fact check your asses right out of the White House and evangelical fascism is going to rain down as your worst nightmare. There is an anti-media sentiment in this country right now and tactics like these when there is no scrutiny of Dems is going to result in getting your asses handed to you.

Go sit down and eat your snails

Just like the partisan commissions on being a pain in Hillary's ass. Except she looks more composed and in control after each public fiasco, Carson's lunacy just becomes more exposed. I know lunacy is your thing, but a lot of people don't look for that in a presidential candidate.

Where were the God damned fact checkers for Barack Obama when he was running?

Yup, Obama just sailed right on through, nobody looked at him twice. You should get one of your lawyer bosses to fact check some of your bullshit while you're making their coffee, you'd embarrass yourself a lot less often.

playing the American people for fools by keeping a personal server because she wanted to be above the law and protocol and make backroom deals for her phony foundation.

How is the investigation going into GWB's cabinets private email servers, and the 22 million odd emails that Rove deleted? The outcome of that might give us some insight into what Hilldog can expect. Should be less than their punishment, since there's no scrutiny of dems at all, and republicans are always getting a bad rap.

Haha, yep, right. You fucking idiot.

^^^^^ that asswhistle sure talks to himself a lot. Still hasn't left huh?

I bet he doesn't even live here.

Ben Carson's Psychology Test Story Gets Even Weirder

http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2015/11/ben-carsons-psychology-test-story-gets-even-weirder - story includes photo apparently of parody article from Yale Daily News, on which carson seems to have based his story, at least in part

i think we can all agree that most, if not all, politicians have lied in some way in the past

i think obama is irrelevant in this respect as he is not running for office now

and if he wasn't fact checked enough in the past, that doesn't mean others shouldn't be fact checked now - 2 wrongs don't make a right

some part of the electorate may indeed buy carson's snake oil, namely that these numerous instances of inconsistent or patently false statements by him were actually true,

and that the whole thing is a liberal media conspiracy (although even o'really confronted him about west point and said he should have explained the truth better in his book)

but
this "drip, drip, drip" of evidence that carson has been less than honest in describing his life, building a narrative of honesty and good old christian redemption, is starting to make this admittedly brilliant former surgeon look like a pathological liar - and therefore not the most honest man in the field running for prez

:2 cents:

When Obama ran in 2008, what was the biggest knock against him? That he was young and inexperienced and that he was a celebrity candidate

Fast forward to present day and which candidates are at the top of the GOP polls? Trump and Carson. Both have no experience in politics and Trump is the definition of a celebrity candidate

It's bizzaro world

Sometime in the past three years all of these “news” outlets hired some crack autobiography fact checkers that were obviously not on staff back during the 2008 and 2012 races.

That's hilarious but you know Hilldebeast is the one who started the birther movement, right?
