They were sucking before that rant. It may be my fault they lost to the Royals but its not my fault they're having a bad season. I don't really give a fuck anymore anyway because I couldn't care less about these million dollar fucks playing this game.

OK. Then I assume you are done commenting here?? Seems rather extreme to me but, hey, you can always start following lacrosse I suppose. :dunno: By the way, they are actually multi-million dollar fucks if you want to be precise so....:D

RIP Popeye. You were awesome and will not soon be forgotten!!

I wonder if Pedro feels like a douchebag tonight?? :dunno: He should....

This was a terrible homestand for the San Francisco Giants ... early in the week, they went up against the National East leading Nationals, without Bryce Harper and went 1-3. This weekend the bullpen imploded against the Colorado Rockies and they got swept, 0-3. The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up three games, and are now 6 and a half games out. They need to put this mess behind them. On to Chicago to play the White Sox.

OMG!!!! Tony Gwynn is dead!!!

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/06/16/mlb-hall-famer-tony-gwynn-dies-cancer-at-age-54/

I didn't even know that he had been ill. Damn....what a shocker. 54 years old....so young.

One of the greatest hitters in the history of baseball. 3,141 career hits, a .338 career BA....the ultimate contact hitter. Amazing stat: in 20 seasons and 10,232 MLB games he struck out only 434 times, an average of 29 times over an 162-game schedule. Incredible. R.I.P. Tony....you were one of the best ever. :crying:

I just saw this, truly one of the best that I've seen so far in my lifetime. Also, from what I could see, one of the nicest people ever and from other people's accounts, that was definitely the case. RIP Tony.

And Tony Gwynn. Lifetime AB: 9288. SO: 434. Averaged 29 SO per season for 20 years and never over 40 for any season. Walked twice as much as striking out.

2014 NY Mets season 69 games non-pitchers: 2255 AB. 530 SO 9 players with 35+ SO. Strike out twice as many walks.

He was one of the best players in baseball during my youth, he was the Padres. :(

I've lived in SD my whole life and he was my idol growing up. All through Little League, Pony and High School, Tony was the guy I patterned my hitting after. I was a lefty with a pretty good eye for hitting, and I never wanted to hit homeruns like all the other kids. I hit the ball everywhere, just like TG. I had the chance to meet him a couple times back in the late 80's and he really was the nicest guy. Can't believe he's left us at such a young age. Nobody who chews thinks it's going to be the thing that kills them. Tony Gwynn is the biggest example that it definitely can. I managed to quit that shit about 3 years ago. Best decision I ever made. Thanks for all the great years of baseball TG. You are missed already.

Man, what a pitcher's duel at Chavez Ravine last night! Wainrwight and Beckett went at it the entire game. Craig gets thrown out at the plate in the 7th and the Dodgers score the only run of the game the next inning to squeak out a win. Damn....sure wish that one would have gone our way. When your pitcher goes 8 innings and allows just 5 hits, 1 BB and strikes out 7, you expect to win. Our offense needs to get more robust but I'm not sure anyone would have scored much on these two guys thew way they both pitched last night! We'll get that one back tonight (I hope....):yesyes:

We got revenge in game #2 which was also another well-pitched game. Now, it's Lynn vs. Greinke and God-only-knows who vs. Kershaw on Sunday. Advantage: Dodgers? Maybe....we kit pretty good against Kershaw so maybe we've got a chance of walking out of here with at least a split and, dare I say it, maybe a 3-1 series win. Great baseball so far.

These Mets find more ways to snatch defeat from the hands of victory. Up 3-1 in the 8th. Give up 4 runs on 3 hits, 2 walks, and 3 errors. I guess Casey Stengel was right. Most ball games are lost, not won.

The Mets are having the same problem as so many other teams right now shaky to awful bullpens but yeah that was a crapy way to loose given how we'll the starter had pitched

I'd like to see the Cardinals deal Allen Craig to the Rangers in exchange for Adrian Beltre. That way, the Rangers dump a big salary in an aging slugger and it makes room for Mike Olt to take over at 3rd base while acquiring a versatile career .300 hitter who can play corner OF or 1B. Cardinals benefit mightily with a power jolt at the hot corner and allows them to move Matt Carpenter back to 2nd and lets top-prospect Oscar Tavares take over permanently in RF. Win/win for both clubs.
