It looks like Texas is in full rebuild mode. They are really sloppy. I get the feeling Okie is going to pile on the points in the second half...
We are indeed in full rebuild mode but "sloppy" is a curious word to use to describe Texas' effort today (except for Williams' muffed punt, we played turnover-free). In what way did we play "sloppy", t-rock? :dunno:
Our biggest problem is that we just don't have an offensive identity. No defined running back (I wish we would get the ball to Monroe a lot more....that dude is electrifying) and no consistent ability to go vertical in the passing game (how many times did you see Gilbert throw the ball behind the first-down marker on third down?). These guys are young so the growing pains are tough to endure.
The defense stepped up and played extremely well in the second half. Jeffcoat's brain-cramp personal foul penalty when we had a chance to shift the game momentum in the 4th quarter was the difference maker in my book. This game was winnable for us but the truth is that Oklahoma is simply a better team at this stage of the game than we are. I'm not unhappy with our effort today....just the outcome. Now we get to go to Lincoln next week so the road certainly doesn't get any easier.
Congrats to Stoops and company....they outplayed us today for sure. I'm sure Will is partying his ass off. Deservedly so! :glugglug:
We'll get y'all next year! :violent:
