Also, will Sterk go to Minnesota? And will it make any difference? Furthermore, if Neuheisel's job is hanging by a thread, who would replace him?

Wow....convincing is the word that comes to mind for both teams. Auburn vs. Oregon will make for a terrific national championship matchup regardless of the fact that TCU stands there at 12-0 and we'll never have a chance to know how they might have fared against either team. The flaws in the BCS system are so apparent as to be ridiculous.

Regardless, congrats are in order for the Ducks and Tigers!:glugglug: I'm guessing the opening line will have Auburn a slight favorite. Enjoy the moment, Bodie....things like this don't come along very often for anyone, much less the Ducks. Chip and his crew did a great job this year. The deserve it.

As for Auburn, I don't know what you do or how you even attempt to stop Cam Newton. He looks indomitable to me. The only way to beat them is to score early and often and control the clock so you keep Newton off the field....which the Ducks could definitely do.

I look forward to the game. It'll be a helluva battle in the desert (in a month....talk about a buzzkill! Play the game next week for crissakes!!!).

Newton looked blessed tonite...just look at the Hail Mary. Oregon will need LaMichael James at full throttle. Plus look at the Cal game: The Bears used a nickel throughout, and rotated down linemen. And they managed the clock effectively. If Auburn looks at this and adds Cam's head of steam, the Tigers are the champs.

Interesting...

Big XII vs Big Ten in the Big XII Champ game...:o

Thanks Jagger I will :glugglug:
And you're exactly right. I seriously never thought that in my lifetime Oregon would have a shot at a national championship in football. Basketball maybe, but not football.

Good analysis, MD. I agree Auburn should win this game, but hopefully the Ducks will at least make it entertaining.

By the way gentlemen, I'll be posting this year's Bowl Challenge thread sometime next week. Looking forward to another spirited competition

Dirk is the defending champ
Can he repeat last year's dramatic victory?
The oddmakers say "no" :hammer:
Tune in to find out :computer:

Fixed.

Also, did anyone else just see a guy win 123,000$ tuition scholarship from Dr. Pepper? :surprise: Wow.

I think so. WTF is he doing?

Nice rebound by the Sooners before the half. They need to take the game to the Huskers on defense. I mean, Taylor Martinez whipping them by passing the ball??? Simply unacceptable. Make the appropriate adjustments and DOMINATE the second half (geezus....a Longhorn and Tiger fan rooting for the fucking Sooners? :dunno::why::wtf:).

Boomer Sooner in the 2nd half!!!

Washington is 3rd in the Pac 10 and bowl eligible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As hard as Auburn might look at the Cal tapes, Kelly will be looking at the Auburn/Mississippi State highlights...a game the 'Dogs should have won.

Illinois got screwed royally on that 4th down spot. There was at least one full car length between where the runner was tackled and the first down.

Wasn't determinative but it was clearly a bad spot. Did I mention the personal foul call on 3rd and long on that drive? Wow..certainly the SIllynoise player shouldn't have taking the chance (I guess) but is this still football or 2 hand touch? Guy essentially got penalized for hitting the receiver too hard.:dunno:

Two points: First the bad spot. Yes it was a bad spot. But they play before on 3rd down was a terrible spot, it should of been a first down and Fresno never woulda had to go for it on 4th down. And Fresno got penalized on a bullshit personal foul, so really it all evened out in the end. Up until that last drive, Fresno had gotten the short end of the stick on alot of the calls.

Anyway, as for Saturday's action......

Wow, what a performance by Auburn. That will be 6 wins against ranked opponents once the next poll comes out. How many does Oregon have?? 1. Not that it matters, but Auburn deserves to be number 1 in all polls.

It was nice of Lane Kiffin not to tack on an extra TD at the end of the game versus UCLA, unlike that prick Pete Carroll.

And the NCAA isn't gonna allow 6-6 Arizona State go to a bowl. Even though San Jose State left them out in the cold so ASU had no choice but to schedule another 1-AA school. And even though they had to play 9, not 7 or 8, conference games in a BCS conference. Meanwhile 6-6 Middle Tennessee State will go to a bowl, out of the Sun Belt, the same conference that won a grand total of 2 1-A non-conference games. That's right, 2, that's it. Both decided by last second field goals. And btw that same Middle Tennessee team lost to Memphis. That was Memphis' only win of the season, 1-11. But God forbid the Sun Devils be allowed to go to a bowl.

Screw SEC unity... I'm going to be the biggest Ducks fan when they play Allbarn!

Great, gutty win by the Sooners but I really wish they would have buried the Huskers in the 2nd half instead of just scraping by. I'd like to feel like we're kicking them out the door rather than having them leave. Anyway, good to know their last Big 12 memories will be losses to Texas, Texas A & M and Oklahoma!

I hope you assholes play Minnesota in your first conference game and get your clock cleaned by a team named after a fucking pestilent rodent.

Here's wishing you the worst of luck in the Big 10, Nebraska! We'll be just fine without you. :thefinger:booty::thefinger
