Illinois got screwed royally on that 4th down spot. There was at least one full car length between where the runner was tackled and the first down.
Wasn't determinative but it was clearly a bad spot. Did I mention the personal foul call on 3rd and long on that drive? Wow..certainly the SIllynoise player shouldn't have taking the chance (I guess) but is this still football or 2 hand touch? Guy essentially got penalized for hitting the receiver too hard.:dunno:
Two points: First the bad spot. Yes it was a bad spot. But they play before on 3rd down was a terrible spot, it should of been a first down and Fresno never woulda had to go for it on 4th down. And Fresno got penalized on a bullshit personal foul, so really it all evened out in the end. Up until that last drive, Fresno had gotten the short end of the stick on alot of the calls.
Anyway, as for Saturday's action......
Wow, what a performance by Auburn. That will be 6 wins against ranked opponents once the next poll comes out. How many does Oregon have?? 1. Not that it matters, but Auburn deserves to be number 1 in all polls.
It was nice of Lane Kiffin not to tack on an extra TD at the end of the game versus UCLA, unlike that prick Pete Carroll.
And the NCAA isn't gonna allow 6-6 Arizona State go to a bowl. Even though San Jose State left them out in the cold so ASU had no choice but to schedule another 1-AA school. And even though they had to play 9, not 7 or 8, conference games in a BCS conference. Meanwhile 6-6 Middle Tennessee State will go to a bowl, out of the Sun Belt, the same conference that won a grand total of 2 1-A non-conference games. That's right, 2, that's it. Both decided by last second field goals. And btw that same Middle Tennessee team lost to Memphis. That was Memphis' only win of the season, 1-11. But God forbid the Sun Devils be allowed to go to a bowl.
