Great defensive effort by Florida State - they totally caught Duke off-guard, holding them under 32 percent FG shooting. Props to the Seminoles for executing their gameplan.
Though Duke may be more vulnerable without Kyrie Irving, it doesn't mean they're not a championship caliber team. Yes, they do have their flaws, but they are still gonna be a team to watch out for in March.

I don't have a good feeling about tonight's game against the Gophers. We've won 10 straight road games and are also going for our first 5-0 start in conference play since 1989-90. We're due for an upset and it's tough to win at The Barn.
Also, Mbakwe is going to eat up Johnson in the paint. JJ is all finesse. I hope I'm wrong, but an upset would not be surprising.

Dammit, I hate losing in basketball more than any other fucking sport. We had a chance to get off to a great start in conference play and we fucking blew it. Ugh, I'm just pissed off now. I need a beer.

It is surprising to see how well Purdue is doing so far. I don't think anyone gave them a chance after Robbie Hummel got injured. Unfortunately, things aren't going to get any easier for them in their upcoming schedule.
The Big Ten is real deep. I'm not sure Minnesota winning at home against Purdue is much of an upset. With the possible exception of Ohio State, any team in that conference losing on the road wouldn't be much of a surprise unless it were to Iowa or Indiana.

Ok. How many of us sports fans record the games to watch them later? Tivo has been my late-night friend for that reason.
Last night, during halftime of the Duke-FSU game, I get an email from a "fan" telling me the score (Duke was down). I hadn't watched but the first 5 minutes of the game! Here he is, telling me how it is at the half. I gave him a good verbal lashing. (LOL)
After the game ends, my own sister sends a text simply saying "What happened to our boys???!" It doesn't take a genius to figure out Duke lost. I didn't even have to watch the game. Guess it's for the best.
I wouldn't dream of telling a big sports fan how their team did, without first verifying that 1, they had plans to watch the game at a later time or 2, they didn't care to hear the score. Common sense, folks!

:1orglaugh OMG I can so relate. That kind of thing has happened to me so often that nowadays whan I tape something I turn off my cell, unplug my land line, and stay completely away from my emais, radio and any television station that covers sports in any way at all :1orglaugh
Of course, even all of that is not foolproof. One time I taped the final 2 rounds of the Masters Golf Tournament. I managed to avoid all possible spoilers over the full weekend *whew* Monday morning I settled into my TV chair with much food and drink to bury myself in 12 hours of championship golf from Augusta National. But I forgot my TV was last tuned to ESPN, so of course the moment I turned the tube on the very first image I saw was Tiger Woods holding up the Master's trophy

Fuck that. Another game we didn't deserve to win. E'Twaun Moore is killing this team right now. He's been absent for the last three games. 6-18 shooting today from the field. For fuck's sake man, if you're not on, quit shooting the goddamn ball. And Ryne Smith goes from hitting five three pointers a game to not hitting any. JaJuan Johnson cannot carry this team on his own. Someone else is going to have to step up or we're going to get destroyed in conference play.
It's so frustrating to watch the Boilers play right now.
