0 - 16 Lions . . . what now ?

Worst offensive line, worse defense ever ...

Look at the sacks (not just when Culpepper was in). Look at all the moves their RBs had to make on their own.

And look at that pathetic D.

Hence, take Andre Smith with that first pick....and then with that 2nd pick (from the cowboys) take either a linebacker or d-lineman (Ray Maualuga, James Laurinitis, Terrence Cody..just to put some names out there) or possibly another tackle to play opposite Smith in Michael Oher or Jason Smith

or they could trade down and get multiple picks.....there are ALOT of holes that need to be filled

Look on the bright side: Last year the Dolphins ended just as bad and now they are in the playoffs.

Hey! I resent that! My Dolphins were never 0-16! They might have been 1-15, but they were (marginally) not winless! :thefinger

I think the biggest problem with Shaun Rodgers in Detroit is that they tried to constantly fit a system where it didn't optimize his abilities. They were trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. If they really thought they had one of the best players in the league at his position ,like they claimed, it was stupid to try and force him into a system that didn't even work instead of adjusting the system to him. That's what good coaching staffs and front offices do, and is just another thing to show how ineptitude Detroit was.

A good DT usually works in a 3-4 or a 4-3, a 4-3 better. He was pushed over too many times in the pocket. Where did Cleveland go this year? #30 in total defense... I agree the coaching staff in Detroit did nothing with nothing with him though..

he had 1 good year.....every other year he was mediocre for a #2 WR
but he was the best of the 3....but still not that good....he struggles to get open

2006 and 2007 were not bad. It was a QB issue as well, cant catch the ball, if the qb is on his back or the pass is poorly thrown with Kitna and a poor OF line not giving time.

you cant totally blame Cleveland's Defense sucking on rogers not performing....in fact most of that i would put on the offense not being able to move the ball and for frequently putting the defense into bad situations, allowing other teams to score, and then run the ball late....so the stats are a little skewed anyways

didnt do anything in 9 games with the cowboys either....

unfortunatly, detroit has given up on the lions. doesnt suprise anyone with the city being in one of the worst situations this nation has seen in a major city.

but, its simple: new coach with a lot of confidence. look at my atlanta falcons. last season we were 4-12; and after the mike vick incident and our head coach leaving without even finishing the season; there was no hope. now were one of the most feared teams in the league with an 11-5 record and a playoff spot.

how about the dolphins? 15-1 last year and they won their division with a new coach.

people say it could take years for the frachise to overcome what theyve experienced. i say some changes in staff and a little hope. thats my 2 cents...
