i have never seen any reputable study that concludes our universe is infinite. instead, it has a certain mass, definable number of stars and galaxies and a definite beginning in time. the hubble telescope has come close to seeing the edge of the universe.

i don't really know but i wouldn't be surprised if we are the only people in this universe. however it's possible that universes exist of which we are not aware of and they could have people.
