it was Croque monsieur so of course Gruyere. Good baguette with french mustard and ham toasted, then you make a bechamel and then add Gruyere to it put that on the top slice of bread and broil it til bubbling

those are bay scallops and as you know everything is a matter of opinion. I have had UK scallops as well as Scottish scallops and yes they are excellent. But these are every bit as good. Its wise to refrain from making judgments on things you haven't tried. :)

One of my favorite things about where I live is the scallop season in the summer. I live about 30 minutes south of the biggest scallop bed in the US. The area between the Homosassa River and the Crystal River feed into the gulf...both are spring-fed rivers so the alkalinity for scallops is ideal.

Just booked flights for November back to France, this time on Norwegian Airlines which I hear is awesome! I'll be on the new 787-9 Dreamliner plane which is supposed to be awesome. Non-stop from Orlando to Paris then hopping Ryan Air to Bergerac and renting a car. No train this trip! :)

Yeah I was there for 14 days total 4 in Paris and 10 in southern France which I fell in love with. Ive been several times before but this was without doubt the best trip Ive ever taken. The food is incredible and the place is gorgeous in every direction.
