Do you ever ask yourself why the hell are you still a member?

I increasingly find myself wondering why I keep coming back. Yes I could close my account down and probably find much more enjoyable pursuits out there, I log in more than anything because of habit nowadays. I know first hand I have little constructive to post and reading the often mind numbingly dumb threads on the board merely fuels my cynicism.

I'm probably looking at the content more than a man in a happy physical relationship with a woman probably really should, even that is simply because its always there.

I'm asking the question, but I'm wondering am I just thinking and typing out loud.

Do DOA's days grow short...

The reason I stay is because the porn never left and there are enough cool members around. If everyone left tomorrow I would quit posting and just surf porn. No point being here without the comedians.

While the main reason I became a member was the OCSM's. One of the things that keeps me here was I enjoyed chatting with other people from different parts to see what the "average" person feels on certain things and try to impart what an "average" person here thinks. Which is why, if you read my posts, I try not to necessarily change your mind (no one really has my core thoughts so why would I be able to do that to them), but rather give an insight that you may not hear in the 20 second sound bites call the news. And this is what I look for as well. So long as a person is well informed in their decisions, I willing to discuss almost anything. If all you can do is give me catch phrases, sound bites, or whatever left or right wing pundit or lobby says, then you are wasting both our of short time on this Earth.

^^Exactly. I clearly remember when I first joined, there were people complaining. And there's been people complaining ever since. And I'm not losing sight of the fact that I've complained myself. But I've also made it clear that I plan to stay here. I make my complaints/comments/suggestions and see what happens next.

It's becoming more of a porn board I guess, as weird as that sounds. Which is fine with me. There is still enough going on for a laugh or little debate. Plenty of cool members still, although I could do without the trolls, but what are you gonna do?
