Anyone here in a band?

I am in a casual band. We don't play many events, it is fun just to get together and jam out a few tunes.

I play open mics all the time. It's fun. I've been in too many bands that sucked the fun out of it. Sucks, but what can ya do?

I play a little guitar, but I would never play in front of anyone...y wife's never even heard me...and my voice is just not meant for singing, but I enjoy what I do, for me. When I get a few bucks together I wanna buy a bass too.

Really interesting that so many replies here are from fellow drummers. :banger:

oh grow a pair and post it dude. you're here, fuck it. this is rock, who the fuck cares? you want fans, well, who gives a **** if they look at porn. everyone fucking does it anyway.

if i had **** up, id post it. all i got is shitty cassettes everywhere. recorded under a cardboard box in my room.

Eh. I guess I just have to get over my lingering issues about being secretive about porn. Fuck it.

Here you go. I present to you, Ire Clad. All tracks from our first CD can be streamed at that link.

And a live video from this past summer (composite from a couple performances, so forgive the wardrobe differences... the audio is all one live take though). Additional videos (mostly audience shot) can be googled.

Not a fan of punk, and cute Korean girls are best suited to being naked eye candy. I can't see a punk version of ANY song I like, and I doubt any of them would sound good being sung by a Korean chick...no matter how cute, or naked she is. But thanks for the advise.:banger:

Yes. Here we are:

Seriously, though, I've been in many, many bands in my day. Now I'm producing music. I play for fun with friends almost every week, but we're not looking to do gigs.

you would be surprised. as for that band i had with the korean cutie, it wasnt a "punk band." i just like punk personally. im also really into smashing pumpkins too and not all punk is obvious punk like lets say the exploited. for instance, i considered a big faction of nirvana to be punk. punk isnt just banging on drums real fast or singing with an accent, its all attitude. anyway, long story short, that band was more...alternativeishy than punk. i always thrived for my own style.

we werent so bad. i played guitar in this one, and it was my project. i played some pretty fat metal chords for it.

Where are you from? Come play Windsor. There's a solid metal scene here.

good for you dude. good for you.

I play in a blues/R&B/folk band. We do a little rock music, too. Nothing noteworthy. Our bass player just got from Lucerne playing the big blues/jazz festival over there. I wrote a song on a Blues Music Award-nominated album a few years back. I've never made money at it, but enjoy using it as an outlet.

Fun is what it's all about. I have fun doing it for me, I'm good with that....but if you know a hot little Korean chick, with very little knowledge of English, and even less clothes, send her over.

ps. sabians rock.

I can only attest to the AAX Stage Ride I have. It sounds much better in recordings (studio, but especially live) than I imagine it should when I'm behind the kit. I've been a Zildjian man since high school. Love my Z3's immensely for their cut and power and sheer volume, though I was shocked when I cracked one of them.

Sabians sharing the same DNA as Zildjian, I find little difference. I've been gradually warming to Paiste, though. I have a recently acquired 22" 2002 China which is the most stunning and versatile and musical (and biggest) cymbal I've ever owned. I may gradually replace my Zildjians with Paiste. But I expect I will end up with a mix of brands on account of I don't care what name is on it so long as that exact cymbal is precisely the sound I want in that spot.
