Chicago and Tokyo bounced!!

Not sure how this is a shock...at least as far as Chicago is concerned.

I'm sure it didn't help them with one of the most talked about stories in news today is a 16 y.o. *** getting beat to death on one of their streets.:2 cents:

Congrats to Rio on winning the bid. Their bid was considered the "safe bid" from day one, and I'm sure the games will be handled just fine in Rio in 2016.

true. :(

Is it too late [for Chicago] put in a bid for the Special Olympics?

wow

Brazil will have the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016

The 2 greatest sporting events within 2 years

Yep thats absolutely correct! Well done Rio and Brazil on securing the Olympics 2016.

It doesn't look like Chicago will attempt to bid for the 2020 games either. I'm guessing that if America does bid one of its cities in the 2013 IOC voting, it would most likely be LA.

You just wait until corruption becomes an Olympic sport! Chicago will get all the gold medals and leave the rest in the dust! :D
