Mickey Rourke in Iron Man 2?

Marvel modeled Ultimate Nick Fury after Samuel L. Jackson. I thought you knew that.

I quit reading comics before any of the ultimate stuff came out. In any case I don't know why they would use that instead of how Nick Fury has been in the normal continuity for decades now. Most comic fans over the age of 25 that don't really buy them anymore are probably going to think the same thing I am.

I don't remember comic fans complaining about Jarvis not being an actual butler so I don't see why Samuel L. Jackson playing Nick Fury should be a problem. If it's that much of a problem then they can just go to Best Buy and buy the David Hasselhoff "Nick Fury" movie.

the David Hasselhoff "Nick Fury" movie.

I spent so many years trying to forget that little nightmare, and you go and remind me.... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Well I guess if you don't count the fact Nick Fury is some aged extremely grizzled white guy, and Samuel L. Jackson is black and usually plays a tough but younger and more snarky character, there yes, there's no problem. For the rest of the people that see that difference smack them in the face and be very different from how the character actually is for no real good reason other than to waste money on an A list ********* then it just doesn't make sense. Just because they screwed up even more in the past with Hasselhoff doesn't some how make every decision that's better than that, which doesn’t take much, somehow good.

I dont think it's any secret that Marvel studios or whatever they are called, loves incorporating Ultimate Marvel universe stuff into the movies based on their characters. Which is why we had Topher Grace running around as "Eddie Brock Jr." and Sam Jackson as Nick Fury. Some of the Ultimate stuff is good, and some of it is bad (much like the classic 616 universe), but I'll give Marvel kudos for atleast giving fans a heads up of where they were wanting to go with Nick Fury. Making him black, and looking like Jackson's twin pretty much screamed, "Hey! This is what you should probably expect Nick to be in a movie coming soon to a theater near you!".

And that's exactly what happened.

Personally I'm glad they are using the Ultimate Nick Fury. I can't stand the "616" Nick Fury. I always thought he was one of the lamest characters in the Marvel Universe. The Ultimate version actually has a personality and much like the Ultimate Universe itself much more interesting to read.

Either way, it really doesnt matter to me. I've never had alot of emotional investment in Nick Fury, so 616 or Ultimate Nick, is ok with me. Though it does make more sense Marvel went with the Ultimate version since they painted that picture of Sam Jackson years ago.

Sooo ....

Mickey Rourke in Iron Man 2?

Awesome

Scarlett Johansson in Iron Man 2, as BlackWidow?

Eh, ok. :*****:

I have to agree with you on that. I like Scarlett but I don't think she's the right choice for Black Widow. Maybe she'll surprise me but I hear she got a low ball offer for multiple movies so that Marvel could afford Mickey Rourke. If there was someone I would pick for Black Widow, I would have chosen Izabella Scorupco.

Agreed! Famke Jansen would have been a great choice, too. Actually, I don't really care for Scarlett at all...

She's in Iron Man because the character debuted in Iron Man.

Besides...all these current Marvel movies in production are leading up to an Avengers movie anyway.

Yeah, but she is more in partnership with Punisher and Cap. Not Tony. And I dont see how they gonna get everyone aboard to star in the Avengers movie,it's gonna be a cluster fuck.
